Surely they'd need to be appointing someone soon?

Any other counties in the country with vacancies?

Derry are the last senior team to appoint a manager and were one of the first to have a vacancy.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

FermGael

Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

APM

Can't understand the situation Derry have got themselves into. Leadership in the county must be non-existent.

Armamike

That's just, like your opinion man.

Don't be rash

Yes, at least let the Derry CB or the Irish News name you in connection with the role - it's really only a matter of time. Then rule yourself out. That's the way it's done!

The more illustrious neighbours to save the day again! All joking aside - this is the best crop of Derry footballers in a generation, to see it squandered like this is shambolic. It could still be salvaged but they are definitely starting off behind the pack this year no matter who gets the job

From Cahair O'Kane in the Irish News.

QuotePaddy Tally looks set to be appointed as the new Derry manager in the coming days, finally drawing to a close the Oak Leafers' four-month search.

The Galbally native, who previously coached Derry under Brian McIver between 2013 and 2015, is understood to have met with a delegation of players on Tuesday morning.
One Kerry official yesterday told The Irish News that Tally has not yet informed them of any change to his planned involvement with them next year, but that appears likely to change.
If, as expected, he is recommended by the county executive and ratified by the clubs, it would bring to an end an exhaustive search that began when Harte stepped down in early July.

It was confirmed in early September that Tally had signed up for a fourth year with Kerry, albeit in a new role as performance coach as opposed to a hands-on role on the training field.
The Derry job would have obvious attractions to the Galbally native, not least that it is significantly closer to home.
Having coached Tyrone to their first All-Ireland title in 2003, Tally is now in line to succeed Mickey Harte as manager of the Red Hands' rivals.
He went on to coach Down to an All-Ireland final under James McCartan in 2010 before joining Derry, after which he managed Down, had a coaching role in Galway and then joined Kerry.
Tally, who also won a Sigerson Cup with St Mary's, was widely credited for their defensive transformation in his first year there, which ended in All-Ireland success. They conceded just two goals from play in the entire season.

Cahair  also tweeting tonight that Former Dublin defender, eight-time All-Ireland winner Philly McMahon is also being considered.

statto

Irish News put up that Vinny Corey was the new Crossmaglen manager, this was then denied by Crossmaglen club on their facebook page. Big job for whoever goes in there first outside man it looks like and they will have a big fight to take the county championship back, something which is expected/ would have been a given in years gone by.
