ONeill

That was a surprisingly comfortable win v PSG.

Has the French league fallen badly or is the PL elite level?

Think he starts over Calafiori, not sure if he starts over Timber

Might have been premature in that statement. The young Maldini is proving to be a great fit.

The strength in depth in defence is off the scale, MF is keen as mustard, just need Odegaard back, but left wing is a problem, while Martenilli has scored 2 in 2 he's infuriating to watch, he must be a managers dream as he seems to carry out instructions to the letter but he's on a leash and nowhere near the threat he should be, I'd take a swap for Rashford in a heartbeat. Struggling to put the weak teams away at home points to the fact they park the bus but also certain deficiencies, expect Bournemouth to be another grind, then Liverpool, that'll tell where they're at, for both teams

First ballot entered - ticket gained again. Must be lucky.

SHOCKING REVELATIONS!!!

ONeill

That was a bad day yesterday. You could sense it from the start and it wasn't because Saka and Odegaard were missing. The red didn't help either.

I think that's only their second loss in the whole of 2024 (Villa in April?) in the league but it already feels important.

Mate has to be successful otherwise going on your Tod ?

ONeill

Aye on me own for now. Will keep trying the ticket exchange for the lad.

Disappointing second half but you could understand it. Losing Gabriel and Timber left the defence a fairly makeshift unit. Rice and Merino dropped back to cover them, and with no Odegaard it left the side without any real outlet. Saka had gone out of the game and Martinelli/Havertz were dunging out the fullbacks.

I understand what happened at City, as they'd 10 men and simply couldn't get the ball. Today, they gave Liverpool too much respect. After Salah's goal (don't think it happens if Timber on), they went on the front foot again and were probing. Left it too late though.

Not a bad point, just wish they'd play like the home team should when 2-1 up. I sort of understand it, because of the injuries - but at this stage of their development they should have the squad to cope. Arteta might be a bit lost on how to go about it this year. They've very close.

Arteta parks the bus,  he's a poor man's Mourhinho or a rich man's Big Sam.

ONeill

I wouldn't go as far as parking the bus but he seems to have something in his head about defending a lead against good sides.

First-half stats were 53%-47% possession. Second half 37%-63%.OK, Liverpool are a good side, and were hunting the equaliser. But that doesn't sit well with me, at home. He seems to be struggling with replacing Odegaard - someone who wants the ball and wants to keep possession.

Poor run of form.

On another note, another ballot and another success. This time v Everton. 2/2 this year.

Any luck getting one for the cub for the other game ?
