That's exactly why I said 'if they are still in it'

Most people probably thought Trillick would win the back to back including myself. Fair play to Errigal. To be fair to Sean Hurson tonight, he let a lot go which always makes for a better game.

Carrickmore still waiting on Errigal for the league semi final. The Clarkes will be waiting another while yet.

Hope you enjoyed getting the medal at half time.

Defended like dogs fair play to them. Good game very enjoyable. The replay would have been a disaster for Ulster prep but they can probably give st Eunan's a good rattle now by winning tonight

What Happened at the end with the Referee?

If the 2 canavans are in form then there's no reason why Errigal couldn't put it up to any other club in Ulster. To have the luxury as well to bring on the likes of Tommy canavan and mark Kavanagh from the bench does no harm either.

Still feel glen, kilcoo and possibly Scotstown are the three favourites but no reason why Errigal can't cause an upset.

Thought the McCaughey at 3 was very good has he ever had a sniff at county level?Richie Donnelly was poor in middle for trillick had brilliant year last year for them but thought was not the driving force did he take a step back with Matty back?intensity was super really enjoyed it glad was called off last week.

McCaughey at 3 for Trillick was immense. Really good performance from one of the so called lesser players but he was brilliant tonight. Richie has been injured all season, only played 1-2 league games and that eventually catches up with you when the games come thick and fast and with more intensity. He was best player in Tyrone last year by a street and it was always going to be hard to back that up.
Errigal just about deserved the victory - they believe they belong at Ulster level and will give it a good rattle

Quote from: Sperrin_Rambler on October 08, 2024, 12:42:40 PMHard to see by a Trillick back to back at this stage, especially if Canavan's injury is as serious as we are led believe.
The scoring options for Trillick are vast and when they can hold players like Micky Gallagher and Simon Garrity for impact subs it's hard to see anything but another O'Neill Cup travelling to the Fermanagh border.

Killyclogher again left it late to try and stage a fight back but Petey Harte showed he is still dangerous when given the time and space. Errigal's goal was too easy for my liking but with teams experimenting with outfield players in goal these results can happen.

A repeat final in consecutive years - first since 02-03. Errigal again return for this repeat - last time they won one and lost one. It's not a certainty that history won't repeat itself but will take a monumental effort.

Intermediate semi finals were really unentertaining. The only positive on the day was the soup from JP's shop. Greencastle should be fortunate that they get a second bite in this. Shane Meehan is getting his fair bit of stick but the umpires were in position and need to consider if they provided the support given the number of bodies in the square. Moy should have been preparing for a final if Conroy had converted the free prior to the goal. Surprised to see John McCullagh back on the field so soon after his ACL injury and setbacks along the way. All I hope is Friday nights game on a better pitch and with less of a gale force wind might make for better viewing.

Moortown tactics baffled me. To concede the kickout when playing with the wind is criminal, regardless of the booming lock James Kennedy has. Derrylaughan sh*thousery at the end pulling and dragging players to the ground was cleary cynical and warranted some punishment but I feel they did enough to win.

The hurling finals at the weekend provided some real excitement to an otherwise dull weekend. Omagh have some exceptionally skilful young hurlers and they got their just rewards for their second half performance.
The senior final was a fine spectacle and Eire Ogs showed they weren't letting this game slip and Sean Og Grugan stepped up to get them over the line.

History repeats itself once again and the wait for back to back rolls onto 20 years...

If you have a cub give it to him. By my counting the only holder of a county medal from the next generation from the great Carmen team is a trillick man. Are the current generation of Carrickmore players the biggest flops present at the minute considering their father's achievements before them? Or is the pressure to much to bare for them? Should Carrickmore maybe have been focusing on gifting sites to former players like Red Daly rather than blow ins like Penrose and dinky to try and win the elusive county title?

Have to say it was worth the admission fee,Sean Hurson let it go and whether you like or not it helped with the occasion, right call made to postpone and EC just about shaded it,had looked like a replay but the man on form last night RC stepped up,a great advert for club championship and best off luck to EC in ulster
