Quote from: Dunneroyal on September 23, 2024, 01:21:34 PMWas expecting Mcstay to remain for this year. Just cause the boat as sailed on who would replace him.  But at years end he's gone.
That would mean he's gone a year before his agreed 4 year term when appointment. It does appear that the pressure is on to at least reach the last 4 of the championship in 2025.

apart from the inflated expenses example per Louth, you might also see them engaged as a consultant by the main sponsor (providing some obscure consultancy services) - paid directly by sponsor or even employed by the county board in some capacity. I think at the levels these boys are getting paid now, I reckon they're taxed one way of the other. I can't see anyone getting 80k petrol money and it going unchallenged by Revenue or HMRC.
Surely a good bit would be  pound notes

f**k we are desperate, he wouldn't been on the radar for the top 10/15 managerial posts.

I asked you a couple of days ago, only because you're doing some amount of moaning without offering anything yourself.. Who would you want who is available?

Woolie was talking about Tony McEntee to Derry last week, they could do a lot worse.

Yet another example why nobody should be paying any attention to Colm Parkinson.

Mark Doran who's curently with Slaughtneil. What will the Glen boys think?

Sure what's the difference if it was MOR? What would the SNeill boys have thought?

Delighted for Derry. 2 year bubble has blown. Cherrio lads

Couldn't see him going to another Ulster team, good chance he's in with Armagh in some capacity within the next few years.

He was in for the Derry job when Gallagher got it!

Tell us who else is there then?! Who are you bringing in instead of Doran?

I'm happy enough to give him a go at it.

It'll be an improvement at the very least if we concede 2 goals from an opposition kickout that he'll make us sit deeper so we don't concede 2 more!

Lol. That's the spirit.

Jeez that's an underwhelming appointment from Derry if true.

Derry will revert back to the the mean you'd imagine now.

Would take a brave man to even have them top 5 in Ulster at this stage?

Could be wrong.
