Would ye whist

FFS you see the mess they have made of trying to run a league/championship would you trust them to manage a stream

Quote from: Kidder81 on September 19, 2024, 08:23:26 AMJerome is an absolute tool, I don't know why Antrim don't just do those games in house like a lot of counties do.

I have to commend Erin's Own on their new clubrooms, looked the part from across the pitch on Sunday, great spot for a game, well done

100% Referee. Setting the standard still, gymnasium, viewing facilities, playing surface. Up to others to match up, I know it dosent happen overnight.

Ballymena and Portglenone both got ambitious plans for similar...

Simply not good enough, take your beating and move on.

Cassidy maybe has a big Bonus built into his contract for reaching a SF ;)

more like its back to Div 2 management if creggan give him the boot

Who would take him in Div2?

Congrats also to St Ergnats Moneyglass on the opening of their new pitch last week. A small rural community punching well above their weight

Going to jump in here also, some great developments around the county for sure. Fair play to all clubs involved.

Quote from: Around the glens on September 17, 2024, 05:18:46 PMDunloy have earned their stripes to play in the senior championship. The fact that their league and championship team is different is no fault of their own.

If they had of been beat out the gate on Sunday you could've said last year was a fluke. Not the case.

Dunloy far from the only club who field league teams greatly different to their first choice championship team.

And why league form not a great gauge for championship.

there's few teams about anywhere who'd have as much of a difference between their leagie form and championship form. While the relegation does appear a complete mess they are a hard one to cater for. They are borderline a junior team leaguewise.

How many clubs lose the calibre of players that dunloy lose due to county commitments? Not leaving off their own back, playing for their county.
Seaan nigel keelan coby Ryan mcgarry eoin o Neill eoin mcferran aodhan mcgarry?

Is Ryan McGarry the young lad from Ballymena? Shouldn't he be playing for them?

Ryan and Aodhan are brothers.

Aodhan transferred to Dunloy after playing for Ballymena at underage.

So I assume you mean him.

Not sure he has a case to answer though.

dont understand the case to answer part

Creggan as well, new floodlights up and running and a pitch in progress

A lot of SW clubs stepping up in this regard, improving facilities either currently or in planned stage.

Wonder who the first might be to provide sheltered viewing...none atm, fair play to Rossa for being ahead of the game.

I believe 28 clubs in Tyrone have both sheltered viewing (stands) and
match standard floodlighting. That's an impressive statistic...

You forgetting the home of Antrim gaa? Corrigan. Yes Rossa & Davitts have small covered stands, more than adequate

I watched the clip and if you ask me the linesman is at fault. He has the opportunity to stop the game before the free was taken to rectify the mistake.

Now the ref could definitely have stopped the game completely and waited and watched the no11 leave the pitch but many delegate the coordination of that to linesmen to keep the game free of long stoppages.

Was the ex-referee/assessor/ear piece wearing official about? I'm not sure of his name or actual role but I know it's officials related. Would he be able to offer a view for the appeal?

Ultimately though on the video LD had 16 men that allowed them to move from a kick out to a free which was then converted. The score should not have stood on the day and had the linesman notified the ref then the kick out should've been retaken.

In regards to facilities we as a county are way down compared to other counties.
Do we have any ground that has both a stand and flood lighting?

I know that clubs do their best and funding etc is hard to come by but they are not the only issues clubs face. For example if Rossa or St John's wished to include lights the first issue would be planning related due to the impact on the houses close to the grounds.
Thankfully many country clubs benefit from having no immediate issues that way.

Some clubs purposely don't have lights so the pitch gets a rest, especially in the winter

Unlikley he will be much use to any appeal as he is an LD man who appoints the refs and this was a case of appointing a ref which gave LD the best chance to progress
