Quote from: Dunsilly King on September 09, 2023, 02:42:15 PMLD are a team well in decline. Their peak was 2016-19. Minus two county men as well with poor under age. They were there for the taking. Dunloy deserve credit to come from intermediate and get that result. Buts thats as far as they will go. Truth is there are only four serious senior teams, Cargin, Creggan, Portglenone and Aghagallon. A gap exists between them and the rest. However its grt to have a potentially new developing team make a break through.
Some gap...

St Brigids cargin
Ld portglenone

Around the glens

The Div1 champions beat dunloy who maybe are only playing their 3rd game together all season by 3. Due to no fault of their own. And will now be kicking in intermediate.

Absolute joke. County clearly giving St Brigids a free run to the final....

Wee Barky

Big opportunity for portglenone now, they are the big winners from the open draw.

BrendanAntrim

Great job today from Cargin hosting the game. Big number of volunteers managing traffic etc.

Around the glens

Seann Elliot as good a footballer as there is in the county.

bannside

And you can bet LD are saying exact same thing!

That is a close one to call bs. Other one I would expect cargin by a bit.

Cargin management are most likely delighted on the new direction in championship arrangement I am hearing......what ever the dubious intention....

Now aligned with a side which struggled to get past a super hurling team which resides in division two football......

BelSaft

Indeed. They are going to get their wish of a Cargin V Portglenone Final. It's been laid out nicely

Spike

or a Biddies - LD all belfast final.

the only team to have benefitted from this late draw change has been portglenone. The 11 point hiding they gave LD in the league would see them up as strong favourites to progress.

I would predict a LD Cargin final(I would like to see Portglenone in a final but have a sneaky final LD will beat them.)

Honestly think Cargin will beat St Brigids with a bit to spare. Would be good to see a tight game but I don't think St Brigids are quite at their level.

And if that doesn't sum up the state of Antrim football nothing will.

Standard is dire unfortunately.
