Quote from: Sportacus on July 20, 2024, 12:41:35 PMIt's good to see a strong St Brigid's team emerging.  The more teams we have at the top table the better. Congratulations on a first Division One title.

Is it though? a club winning it with organic growth like creggan and portglenone is good for the antrim game.  The St Brigids model of transfers sorting your problems.out is not.

So name the "transfers" in the St Brigids starting 15 and bench who beat Cargin (and then do the same for Cargin)? Jesus Cargin supporters on here hate losing (which is fully understandable), but stop making all sorts of excuses about transfers, league structure, the referee, the opposing supporters etc etc etc. Imagine any team having the temerity to actually beat Cargin in a final. FFS wise up.
Nope. Losing isn't the issue. They're the same when they win, the same when they draw. One big whinge.

The list of transfers into Cargin is non existent..all within senior ranks are home grown and indeed a few 'requests' and enquiries as to such inward requests have been politely turned down in recent times I am told...

Spike

Win,lose or draw, the same bitters complaining about a club's supporters commenting on their win, loss or draw.  Makes sense.....on a discussion board.

What date does the championship start?

I've read this thread back and almost all of the comments for better or worse are about St Brigid's.  No idea why Cargin are so prickly.

Rumour has it (in Matthew's defence) he has been stuck in the wire fence at dunsilly since being smashed into it last year. Good to see he has finally got himself free.

Don't mention the influx of London county players to Portglenone. For this reason Portglenone will be v close to the finishing line this year

bannside

Aye right. Fact they live in Portglenone might have a bearing on it too, or that they only lived a couple of hundred yards across the Bann Bridge in the first place.

DK making it out they've travelled across the Atlantic lol.

BS I didn't make anything out. I stated a fact, both players played for London in last year's national league and championship, it really doesn't matter where there from, they ain't from Portglenone.

bannside

We know what you've done, you've made it quite clear what you think DK. Another cheap shot IMO.

Really starting to look forward to this year's championship, half a dozen clubs could win it, Cargin setting the standard for others to match. Bring it on.

BS I'm not a fan of those type of transfers. I accept that there nothing wrong with them. They have been happening in the city for years, but have now become common place in our area now as well. Just don't agree with it in principle. There nothing cheap in the shot. Don't think there's anything wrong with having that stance. Admired Cargin for refusing an approach in the past year to take 4/5 players.
