Simple as.

How would relegation/promotion play offs work?

Bottom one goes down.

Why have play-offs?

Finish leagues before the championship starts.  Not fair on players playing into mid December.

What is the answer for 2 teams promoted to division 1, and 1 team relegated from division 1 ?

It's a late finish this year. Leagues should be up and running by end of March.

But it's not a late finish when the 2024 league season doesn't begin until mid May. Your mind is still entrapped in the old system.

My answer to that is:

When do these lads starting training again?

Seems to me since the spmit season has come in, the start of training hasn't been pushed back.

Quote from: Duine Inteacht Eile on December 09, 2023, 10:23:33 PMI suppose the answer to that is:

The County Board don't dictate when clubs start training or give it much consideration when setting their fixtures and competitions each year.

That's up to the clubs to manage themselves.

And the question there is who does that benefit?

Games in the east of the county should be played in the summer to eliminate flooding during more stressful times like Spring and Autumn.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

With the leagues not starting until mid May is there no appetite in bringing back pre season competitions such as the Jim Devlin, O'Neill and McGarrity cups?

So much crying done about teams having to play in December. Local amateur soccer all play 10 months a year including over the winter, in much worse pitches and play many more games.

There was a cross country event held in MUSA on Saturday and the conditions were extremely brutal but all the runners got on with it.

Lots of them soccer games on grass pitches get called off. Although there is a good few 4G pitches.
Reality is that lots of GAA players are still in gym and doing personal training in the off season. It's completely different nowadays to what went on even 15 years ago.

Trillick double champions then... fully deserved in everyones opinion?
Serious achievement

Though no other team was going to match their fitness levels and appetite at this time of year especially with the ulster run and tconsidering Tyrone leagues finishing ages ago
did I hear Killyclogher had stopped training well before their semi final?

Congrats to the reds, their up there to be toppled next year now !!
