Totally agree & unacceptable for a panel of that quality to surrender so meekly as you put it.. I don't think in the grand scheme of things Edendork are a 7/8 point better team than us but it was men against boys on Saturday. Its going to be hard now to keep boys at it for the Semi finals of the league. The big question the club has to answer in the off season is who will be appointed for next season, no doubt the rumour mill will be in full flow for every club come Novemeber.
Carrickmore, Omagh and Killyclogher be three teams on the look out for new management set ups. Three awful first round displays from them.

Big problem facing Carrickmore at the moment and in the future is the make up of their squad. They seem overloaded with defenders, wing back type players and are trying to shoe horn them all in and ending up with square pegs in round holes. Also they need Fullerton and McGarrity to develop consistency to become top club level forwards in order for Carrickmore to be genuine contenders for Championships.

Only thing worse than a Sunday game is a Sunday evening game. Poor Gortin and Strabane waiting until 8:15 on a Sunday evening for a game is brutal.

Eire90

i would say players would probably prefer playing  really early on saturday like 11am or 12pm than sunday night

Something about a game that late on a Sunday evening that I really hated as a player. I would even prefer to be Stewartstown/Derrylaughan and playing on a Monday evening than that slot on a Sunday.

Any reason for there to be no venue yet for Coalisland v Ardboe? Maybe waiting to see what kind of shape Edendork is after that game yesterday. Not sure what other venue they can use. Pomeroy maybe?

Edendork is an extremely poor venue for a championship game.
2 small turnstiles that create long queues, no stand or anywhere to shelter from the elements, parking is poor and often dangerous, no toilets or shop facilities, no bins anywhere, the pitch is a complete bog, water lying on top of it and cuts up badly.

Pomeroy must be the worst set up in the county. Massively outdated facilities. Grass not being cut is another problem it has as a venue.

Maybe they are in discussions for the Athletic grounds.
Is the new Dungannon pitch not yet available?

To be fair pomeroy are updating their facilities. Parking is fairly good and its always well organised. Its got plenty of shelter.

Although would agree on surface never liked playing there in league or championship as grass always seemed to be too long.

Edendork were really really impressive on Saturday, outstanding performance all over the field. I thought they had a chance but I did not see that coming, 0-14 to 0-4 after a rumbly enough early penalty. They'll take serious confidence from that and would hold no fear of Trillick.

Edendork v Dungannon in a semi final would be a spectacle, I don't know if it would be appreciated in the west of the county how much genuine bad blood there is in that fixture, and Paul Donaghy's transfer has made it worse in recent years. Of course it could just as easily be Dromore v Trillick which is never dull.

Errigal should have enough but credit to Moortown they are a seriously dogged outfit, they didn't take too many tankings in the league this year.

Ardboe v Coalisland you would edge to Ardboe right now but the Fianna as a club won't have any fear of them, I can see that going either way.

Intermediate you would think is going to be one of Clonoe, Pomeroy, Moy? Outside shouts for Aghyaran and Derrylaughan, I actually think it's fairly wide open even Gortin Kildress Stewartstown are all decent when they get their best teams out.

If Pomeroy can get over the dogged Owen Roes team yeah i think they get to the final. Maybe Aghyaran might do something against Clonoe but only if they play more defensive unlike the league affair where they went toe to toe with them

TyroneClubs

I honestly think Gortin have been shafted two weeks in a row and now Owen Roes and Pomeroy as well. There is no reason a game couldn't be played on Saturday evening after the Edendork game? And a standalone game on the Sunday could be fitted in at a reasonable time at least?

Gortin and Strabane started close to 8:30 last night and only for a great score at the end by the Clogher half back, that game would've went to extra time and the second game would not have got underway to after 9pm on a Sunday night! No respect for players, management or fans.

We want our youth to look up to our senior teams but some can't even see them play in the biggest games of the year. Wouldn't see many u10s there on a Sunday night for a game not over to 10pm, or even Friday night when Trillick and Loughmacrory finished up close to 11. A joke to be honest
