Capt Pat

Liverpool not taking Brentford seriously enough. Having said that 3-2 ahead.

J70

Brentford are a very good side.

They play with great energy and pile players forward after the second ball.

Will cause more than Liverpool problems.

3-3. Liverpool saving themselves for Tuesday.

J70

Salah should have ended it five minutes ago.

All three goals from Brentford attacking the left back post

City are the biggest winners today.. tight
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

To be fair I don't think it was a case of Liverpool not taking Brentford seriously, we had enough chances to win that game easily but Brentford attacked Liverpool at every opportunity and we couldn't handle them at times. Some very dodgy defending also.
Salah should have wrapped it up with a shocker of a miss.
Fair play to Brentford though great team to watch.
Liverpool still top though so not all bad
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Points dropped, but a fun game.

Brentford deserved that.

Rich Ricci

Won't be too many teams leaving Brentford with a handy 3 points going by that performance.

Surprised how much Liverpool struggled with Brentfords direct style of play.

supersub

Scrappy goals, luck of the bounce, mixed with lack of urgency to clear the ball. For all 3 goals. Wouldn't be overly concerned considering we've already kept 5 clean sheets this season. Not going to win every game 3/4-0. Anyone who thinks we are is deluded. Top of the league and on to the next.

RedHand88

It's annoying because you know they will be a one season wonder. They'll get some good results this year and will end up going down next season.

Liverpools right, no or is that what you mean?

Ancelotti picked up on that last year and was one of the reasons Everton did well in those two games.

That's the downside of fullbacks who bomb forward all the time who had their asses covered by VVD who's still a bit off the pace, not unexpected I'd have thought..

From set pieces whatever way Liverpool set up opponents do seem to be avoiding the centre and going either short to the near post or long to the far post and looking for the "second ball" in soccer parlance. A couple of times TAA was outnumbered two or three to one on corners and free kicks.

Brentford have pace in abundance and are a tidy wee team. they'll take plenty of points off teams this year.

Hound

Not a fan of Trent defensively, but he wasn't at fault despite his side being targeted.

I'm a huge fan of Fab, but he could have prevented the first two goals. Completely unaware of the man behind him for the first. And did a Hennelly for the second, went for a ball that wasn't his, got nowhere near and left an empty net behind him.  Whereas just staying calm would likely have led to a goal line clearance.

J70

Yeah, there was f**k all TAA could do for the second and third goals. Completely outnumbered at the back post from balls coming in from Brentford's right.

And first was Fabinho's fault. Just put the boot through it in that situation when you don't know what's behind you!
