LVG had turned into a very deluded man, I was fan up until November when the team like him lost the plot for a month. He was very open and honest about team performances up until then.

He's had a great career and perhaps he's still got something to give elsewhere but after a promising first 15 months in the United job he's no longer the right man for United. What surprises me most is how long it takes him to change tactically when its not working. Even in the last 2 games thats been very evident, he waited far too long to make changes in the games against Everton & Leicester.

Keane saying LVG should be given another year saying the main issue for the team was lack of any leaders in the side.  Interesting viewpoint but regardless as to whether you share it,  there can be little doubt that if Utd had a midfield general this season who put it up to the team and, in particular, put it up to Rooney whor is undoubtedly too comfortable as top-dog, United could have turned a few of the 0-0 draws into wins.

He is right about this United side not having enough leaders in it but LVG has had plenty of time to put that right and he didn't. Leaders develop too, Vidic & Evra became leaders while they were at United. From late October until the end of December we scored 7 goals in 10 league game and won 11 points. In 6 or 7 of those game we barely created a chance, LVG's tactics were the reason for this and not lack of leaders. You need to get players into the box to score goals and far too often this season we've had one player in the box up against 4 defenders. Results wise we've gone backwards and the football has been even worse this season which is a terrible combination so he has to go.

Will he though?    Win the FA cup and scrape top 4 (unlikely) might be enough for him to get his final year.

If he's kept we may as well say we're happy to do a Liverpool on it and settle for no league title for the next few decades. He's a bluffer and a half and you'd be as well off giving the job to Joe Kinnear.

Will he though?    Win the FA cup and scrape top 4 (unlikely) might be enough for him to get his final year.

There's always a small chance he might be kept on if we finished 4th but I just can't see that happening, can't see us winning all our remaining games.

The league will be very open again next season and is there to be won as long as we have a new manager.

Not at all impressed with the team picked for this game. Was hopeful with Fellaini out that Herrera would get in but he's still on the bench. Incredible. Mojo, ropey at full back, is now centre back. Carrick, Rooney and Mata especially could get caught out with the energy of what Norwich will bring (their manager calling it the most important game of their lives). At least Martial is up top. Scoring first will be huge.

I know. And boy how he has been missed. Playing with no striker (Rooney standing up there nominally) as Rashford is not even on the bench. I understand resting players but fail to win here and you're done. Should have had him on the bench at least. Rubbish so far.

The first half of the game has confirmed to me that LVG needs to go. It's not that he hasn't brought the results, but that the style of play is simply awful, and it doesn't look like he's developing a team. With the exception of Martial, almost all the imports have been ruined by him - Di Maria, Falcao (arguably finished anyway), Depay and Darmian were all well thought of before coming to Utd. And the young players that have excelled have done so through necessity - the likes of Pereira, Wilson and Januzaj can't get into the team or are away on loan when they should be playing with United and forming a side for the future.
