15 Mins to go and the new season excitement has kicked in. Hopefully it isn't an anti-climax come 3pm.

Liverpool should have too much for Stoke here.

Been decent without being spectacular. Very fast start which is good to see against inferior opposition. Need a second goal as soon as possible because Stoke look dangerous at set pieces. A  hairy moments from Mignolet so far. Looks a bit nervous. Toure been very good and Aspas too. Need much more from Henderson.

Game would be long over only for some brilliant saves from Begovic. Just hope there isn't a sting in the tail later.

Nervy to say the least but great start to the season.

That save will help Mignolet after a few shaky moments.

Heading over to the united game in two weeks. Another win next week would be nice going into that game.

Great to start with 3 points. From memory we often don't win on opening day. Liverpool will be good to watch this season. Very fluid going forward although you sense there is still a fragility there in defence. Would still like to see a dominant centre-half come in. Somebody that will attack headers and crosses into the box. That said Toure was decent. Still has a bit of pace in him. A lot more than Carra anyway. Coutinho is a little magician. Unlucky not to score today and should have had a couple of assists only for some poor finishing. Came in for some rough treatment from Stoke too. Aspas was in and out of the game. Should have scored. Think he'll be dangerous once he adapts to the pace of the game in the PL.

A good start for Liverpool today especially when you take into account Arsenals home defeat to Villa.
