Screen, it is called 'siege mentality'. A lot of managers use it too good effect. Mickey Harte has done similar in the past to protect the Tyrone camp. Fergie is propably the best and the journalists do not like the fact that he can disregard them in such a way.

EC, Fergie is a hypocritical d**khead who talks as much shite out of his mouth as he does his arsehole.

The man was as classless as Daglish last season as he had the temerity to tell LFC what they should do with Tevez in the aftermath of the racism scandal, who the fcuk does that other than Fergie?

The man slabbers about the amount other teams spend on youngsters yet he had no problem spending a fortune on a fat, granny shagging, chain smoking, gippo like Rooney!

Fergie has lost the plot, retire ffs, he didnt even know enough to start his best player in the crucial game against city that eventually cost them the league, the wheels are coming off and Rooney see's it and smells blood in the water, you watch, there is a storm a coming and Rooney and Fergie will have a keanesque parting of the ways in January..............that is, if anybody wants the fat bastid. :)

Yes Stew. You are right. The man clearly has not got a clue and has just ben seriously lucky!

Why United aren't in for Dembele is a mystery.

Spurs have him.

EC, he has been a tremendous manager, in my opinion the best manager of all time in England, that was not my point, I think he is slipping, he failed to start Valencia against City when he was one of the top players in the league if not Europe last season and to me he is slipping, no shame in that, the man is in his seventies.

Fergie has been lucky over the years, he has also been unlucky, he bought very well for the most part and the class of 92 certainly helped but he was a proven winner over a three decade long managerial career and all successful managers need a wee bit of luck, again no shame in that.

I was a United fan all my life, but I can think for myself and I find Ferguson a whining, moaning bollocks who cant keep his nose out of other peoples business and I cite the following as examples.

1.Alex was disgusted at the way Pogba treated Man United even though he had no problem with the way united poached him.

2. Alex often cried about extra time when his teams needed a goal or two at the business end of a season, check it out, it's called fergie time for a good reason. ( remember the extra, extra time when steve Bruce scored two goals in 7 added on mins in a game they had to have)

3) Alex boycotted the BBC because they had the temerity to show him and his family is a somewhat shady light.

4. Suarez affair, Alex told Liverpool how they should handle their business and brought United down to Liverpool's  (Daglish's) level.

5. Berating linesmen and refs, publicly stating that they should not get top tier games if they give a bad decision against his club.

6. Hypocrisy on talking about the transfer money being spent on youngsters.

I could go on and on but I flat out admire what he has accomplished and although I would still check uniteds result out first I think the man is a horrible hoor, a bully that is running on fumes and I seriously doubt he will ever lift the league or CL again, he is done imo.

Fixed that for you one fair. :)
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

Only thing worse than people calling him Sir, is calling him Slur. Sorry Stew.

EC, you're a fairly decent poster and have an unfair bad rep, but take a reddner here.

If you had such a bee in your bonnet when Dalglish did that sort of thing, at least be big enough to admit that Ferguson was acting like a c**k too.

Fergie's 1000 league game with United on Sunday.

United haven't finished outside the top 3 that last 20 years consistency at it's best.

In other news the CL draw is on tomorrow improvement from last season is certainly needed. The fixture list hasn't been kind Liverpool,Chelsea,City,Villa,Newcastle all away after CL games.
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

OFC I never had a bee in my bonnet about Kenny. If anything he gave me a fair bit of entertainment. I made that comment when his interviews were almost always a collection of yes/no answers and blatant arrogance. There is no doubt that Fergie is also extremely arrogant but his post match interviews are usually conducted with manners. That could not be said about Kenny.

Fergie is not a nice person but not to many people with that level of success in their field are nice.

stew, a lot of what you said is true and as I said above Fergie is a seriously arrogant man but I would suggest if you took his arrogance away he would not be the most successful manager football has seen. I hope/think you are wrong about anymore PL/CL titles.

As for the 'slur' title. Well you are the one stooping to Liverpool standards there I am afraid.

Right, because the likes of yourself and other united fans would never "stoop" to using stupid nicknames to demean another team's manager or player!  You've never used "dogleash' or any such childish name?

Always the sign of a weak argument to me when someone is forced to use such names to make their point.

Where did you hear that?

I thought he was bound for Italy with Juve now ahead of Fiorentina as where he would be going. I heard he turned down fiorentina and he would prefer a move to Juventus. Juventus or Fulham i know where i'd go.
Changed his mind tonight again according to usually reliable lad on twitter
