"When people stop talking that's when violence happens" Charlie Kirk

He was always willing to have a debate on ideas, respectfully listened and argued his point. You don't have to agree with everything but we all should listen to the other side. Something that is missing in today's society. The other side is always Far ____, so you shouldn't talk to that crazy crowd.

Looking at some of the comments on here, this world has gone vile. A wife has lost her husband, two kids have lost a dad and many believe the US has lost someone that was trying to communicate and discuss the difference between the sides.

RIP Charlie Kirk

The managers stubbornness is a big problem in all of this. His inflexibility on the formation is killing United, yes there are some poor players but this formation is compounding the problem.
Add in the fact they are trying to off-load Mainno and Garnacho, silly, when the next transfer window comes around they might be looking for these type of players... for a different manager.

Inflexibility in the formation
Results are getting worse and worse.
This is pointing to Amorim needing to be replaced - I hate that United are in this manager go around tail-spin.

Offloading Garnacho and Mainoo needs to be stopped
Sell off Bruno instead to get the money they need.
with good players like Yoro, Heaven, Mainoo, Amad, Garnacho, Cunha, Mbeumo, they should be in a much better situation. Embarrassing.

Donegal 7  (Roarty,McCole,Moore,Langan,Thompson,Murphy,Conor O'Donnell)
Kerry 5   (David Clifford,Sean O Shea, Joe O'Connor.Jason Foley,Ó Beaglaíoch
Tyrone 1  (Kieran McGeary)
Meath 1  (Sean Rafferty)

And 1 for a beaten Quarter finalists (Beggan)

They'll throw Sam Mulroy one as well, first Leinster champions outside Dublin since before the year of the flood.

Quote from: Squareball71 on July 15, 2025, 12:42:12 AMA name I haven't saw mentioned is Ciaran Moore for Donegal. Am I rating this lad too much because I think he is top drawer and would be a shoe in for an All Star.

It's the boring, predictable option but Clifford surely for POTY again. He just really is that good, even when he has an average day by his standards.

Moore and Roarty are fantastic footballers. Roarty nailed on for YPOTY, and I really think Moore should be an all star. Crucial goals, knocked out Mayo and has played wing back and wing forward.

Joe O'Connor surly in the mix for midfield.

Looking on here you wouldn't think there was a All Ireland this weekend, best of luck to both sets of supporters in their search for tickets!

Since Cork, the aristocrats of hurling, last won a hurling All Ireland in 2005 a whole lot has changed in the world. They had arguable one of the greatest hurling teams ever in the late 70's, but since 2005 the two greatest hurling teams have appeared in Kilkenny and Limerick, can I say they both came and went?

In 2005 they stood top of the hurling charts with 30 All Irelands, four ahead of their closest rivals Kilkenny who are now six better than them. Limerick, Clare and Tipp have also won multiple All Irelands. Offaly even managed to fall to the 3rd tier of hurling and rise again.

There were no iPhones to capture the videos of the 2005 All Ireland success and no Youtube to upload any videos onto. There's been 3 popes, ISIS rose and fell, Greece went bankrupt, Ireland almost did, Britain left the EU, a global pandemic, same sex marriage was made legal and Trump became the US President, twice.

Since their last AI, well, AI means a completely different thing now.
Up the Rebels, Up Tipp!

Quote from: LarryStiles on March 16, 2025, 07:09:33 PMGreat win for us against Kildare. That guarantees us promotion now. Even if loose to Clare next week and Kildare beat Antrim we qualify on score difference. Will be Kildare again in two weeks. I think Kildare are holding back for the league final on two weeks as guaranteed the win against Antrim.
A lot of guarantees in there!

Clare need to beat Offaly by 11pts, not impossible.

Quote from: Wee Barky on November 06, 2024, 08:04:46 AMWhat's the likely impact on the Ukraine war? Will trump reduce funding that will lead to a Russian victory ?
He'll likely look to "broker" a deal where the war stops, Russia take what the have and regroup until after he leaves office in 4 years
He will then look to arm the rest of Europe with weapons but make them pay for all generating wealth for the usual suspects and jobs for working class
As for the Middle East, he will look to bring back the sanctions on Iran and try to take them out of funding Hamas etc.
I do hope that this time around he might be a bit softer and look build bridges at home but that could be wishful thinking.

Not much left of Palestine after the last 4 years.

Democrats have to take a serious look at themselves, Harris was an early faller in the Primaries 4 years ago so sliding her in was a big mistake. Add in her complete flip flop on so many points just seemed that people could not trust her. Looks like Trump could even win the popular vote, when was the last time a Republican won that?

Where was Donald?

In fairness He's been doing interviews, shows etc for the past year. Very few people have any idea what Kamala stands for so it was good that someone challenged her to understand if she is fit to be a president.

Fair if you can trot out two, or even one line that suggests Donald J Trump is qualified to be President.

Having held the office before is not even a half a line.

Why do I need to justify anything about Trump? If you dont know what he stands for by now then you will never know
My comment is about trying to understand if Kamala is fit to be president. She has been wrapped up in cotton wool for most of the time she has been nominated, little interviews and only scripted appearances, the last year or more of her VP role they hid her to avoid her meandering talking points that make no sense. This was a good way for voters (me included) to understand if she is capable on her own two feet or not. She clearly failed in my eyes and it's a sad state that this person will get 50%+ of the votes. The democrat party have lost a lot of credibility in many peoples eyes for putting her forward, there were far better candidates that got a lot more votes in the primaries than Kamala did...

Quote from: Puckoon on October 09, 2024, 06:05:46 AMIs there a fundamental difference in flipping on issues, and flat out lying about issues, crime, and slanderous comments? Just, askin for a friend. They're a non fundamentalist, environmentalist.

She had an opportunity to put her position across on all of these, say why she held those positions and stand above the BS, but she decided to flip flop and go on her nodding meandering stories. Trump should have stuck to political positions in the debate but couldn't. You try to justify this by saying the other side is lying, that's a cop out "he hit me first". Again, I dont need to justify the lies etc., I'm pointing out her inability to stand by her positions.

Neither of them are credible, Vance was the only one in the past month that seemed a credible candidate on either ticket. With Trumps age, health, poor lifestyle and bullet dodging, well maybe a VP will come into play in the not too distant future.

What was clear from the interview is in no way, shape or form is she qualified to be a president. She has flipped on so many issues I have no doubt she will flip on them again if she wins the election (Border, Fracking, Medicare for All, EV mandate, defund the police and so on). I've heard a number of women that are staunch Democrats say that she is an embarrassment to all the smart women in the country that she could be the first female president.
One thing I have noticed in the past two weeks is the Lib News stations/shows are asking hard questions about Kamala which is a big shift from the past 20 years. There is always a finish with a "Trump is going to kill democracy" soundbite or something similar but I will give them credit they are asking harder questions of her.

Looking at what is going on for the past few weeks the Presidential election is down to two choices, vote for Trump or not for Trump. They could run kermit the frog as the "not for Trump" option and he would get >50% of the vote.

It's a sad state that these two are left run for one of the most powerful positions in the world. After looking at the 4 candidates (VP's also), the only one that has come across well is Vance.

Football - 1982 All Ireland Football final, I was only a young lad in the Hogan stand that day it was magical. The water coming off the net as the goal went in. To this day I could never understand why so many Offaly supporters had made their way onto the sideline with 3 mins left.

Hurling - 1994 All Ireland, it was a slow burning performance from Offaly. The last 5 mins were pure magic, for an Offaly man I should add.

I've been very lucky to see Offaly win and loose hurling and Football finals in both codes at Senior level, U21/U20 level, and minor hurling. Unfortunately at minor football only seen Offaly loose an AI. For a small county it's not bad.
