Two Romanian teenagers who were accused of attempting to rape a schoolgirl in County Antrim are to have the charges withdrawn.

The boys, aged 14 and 15, have been held in custody since the alleged assault on 7 June which led to sustained racially-motivated riots in Ballymena during the summer.

At Belfast Youth Court on Friday, the Public Prosecution Service was granted permission to end criminal proceedings due to "significant evidential developments".

The teenagers will now be released from the juvenile detention centre where they have been held for more than five months.

its an interesting development and will it come out what the "significant evidential developments" are?

Ingerland got tanked in the first test in the Ashes, so full of it after bowling the Ozzies out for 132 in the first innings. They collapse again and Head hammers a 69 ball century to cruze home. All over in two days.

Will the punters who bought tickets for the other three days get refunded or is it you pays your money you takes your chance.

Use gilette fusion, so bough cheap ones from Teamu, got them, looked exactly the same, clicked them in, had a shave.... Would have been better off using a butter knife.

The big one is AGI which is

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) refers to a hypothetical type of AI that can understand, learn, and apply intelligence across a wide range of tasks at a level equal to or surpassing human cognitive abilities. Unlike narrow AI (e.g., systems like chess engines or voice assistants that excel in specific domains), AGI would be versatile, adaptable, and capable of general problem-solving without being limited to predefined scenarios.
Key Characteristics of AGI:
Versatility: Handles diverse tasks, from composing music to scientific research, without retraining.
Learning Efficiency: Learns from limited data, generalizes knowledge, and improves autonomously, much like humans.
Reasoning and Creativity: Exhibits abstract thinking, common-sense reasoning, and innovation.
Current Status (as of 2025):
AGI remains a goal rather than a reality. Leading AI labs (including xAI, where I'm built) are pursuing it, but systems like Grok or GPT models are still narrow or "weak" AI. Ethical concerns, such as alignment with human values and safety, are major hurdles. xAI's mission is to advance toward safe AGI to understand the universe.

Thank you Grok

Quote from: Saffrongael on November 02, 2025, 03:04:33 PMLiatroim were strong down the middle but just probably didn't have enough outside of the McCrickards when it came to scoring power. They had an extra man for probably the guts of 45 minutes after the Glenariffe sending off.

Ruairi McCrickard very strong at 3.

Was the red warrented?

Quote from: johnnycool on October 31, 2025, 09:09:30 AMI fancy Liatroim to give Glenariffe a right good rattle tomorrow in Loughgiel with the winners of that being favourites to come out of Ulster.

Burt should have too much for Castlewellan, they make up the biggest proportion of the Donegal county team who have improved immensely in recent years.

In that neck of the woods so hopefully going to Loughguile for that one.

This hurricane Melissa seems to be going to cause terrible damage to Jamica, category 5, winds up to 175 miles per hour round the eye, possible 2 feet of rain as well.

Quote from: MalluskMan on October 17, 2025, 07:04:07 PMI read with surprise the fellow contributors have gone with ossians to win on Saturday. Randalstown fear nobody. We have the winning pedigree in the competition. We will have their number come the final whistle. It wasn't too many seasons ago we had 4 or 5 lads on the county minor panel, not many clubs can boast that. Our sideline far more clued in as well, match ups and strategies will be way ahead. You can bookmark that.

Loughgiel will win the senior. No bother.

Well how'd that work out for you?

Quote from: Square Ball on October 13, 2025, 10:24:57 PMSo, we are County minor Football champions for the first time 😁. Absolutely supberb performance from every single player. Not the hard bit faced by near every club, get these fellas playing senior. So close to the minor double as well.

So next stop St Paul's

Congrats to Bredagh. Should this not be happening more often though given your huge numbers? I'd be asking more why it's not happening regularly. Your senior team has never broken any delph.
Don't know where to begin. Two IFCs that's it recently. Need to stay in Div 1 next year and build from there. Our neighbours done it, and look at them

Well done, will you get many into senior football?
I do not think it will be your last

That's the dream, a few will no doubt make it, but only if they want to and are prepared to put the hard yards in.

Good to hear. Do you have many returning families to Bredagh these days.

A few, starting to build a legacy. Have a few third generation of players, a second as well. Lots of ex senior and current players coaching their kids. Future looking good.

Ballygunner have just completed 12 in a row in Waterford, one title fewer than Slaughtneil, who have just won their 13th Derry hurling title in succession. This weekend Naas are hot favourites to win their seventh Kildare hurling title in a row, and a week later they will be warm favourites to win five in a row in football.

Na Piarsaigh will contest the Limerick hurling final next weekend, looking for their ninth title since 2011. Corofin are in the Galway football semi-finals this weekend, having won 10 titles in the last 14 years. Cargin are in the Antrim football final again on Sunday, looking for their ninth title in 11 years. In Kilkenny, Ballyhale Shamrocks are back on track and favourites to win their sixth title in eight years.

Corofin are out, Salthil beat them by 2 yesterday.
