Portaferry were minus 10 of their county players against us, so it was ultimately their seconds team. We were down 4 of the county lads as well. We'll not be getting too excited about that result but we'll readily take the 2 points.

Turns out Down hurlers were in Tipp playing a friendly either on friday night or Saturday afternoon and anyone who played more than 30 minutes wasn't released back to their clubs.

Tough enough defeat for the minors today in Laois, ending their involvement in Leinster.

Laois go forward to play the top teams in Phase 1.

Anyone know anywhere near the international airport that would be showing the Tyrone Armagh game? Any pubs in Glenavy or somewhere?

Na Glinntí Glasa

Decent game between ourselves and Oisins yesterday. Some good young players in their squad and they wont look out of place in Division 1 going forward.

Good start to the league for our lads, for a change  ;D

Where do we go from here?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

New manager would be a start

Will he stay on, or is it a case Down are just better? Donal Hughes again wins it for Down.
Hospitals are not equipped to treat stupid

Playing a 1 man forward line with a really strong breeze with little attempt to work the ball, just shots from distance including 3 wides from a full back and then we had 13 forwards ( a defenders dream) in the box when we needed a goal ...

Like it doesn't take a genius to work it out .

Abysmal. Absolutely abysmal. The players don't want to be there, blatantly obvious. Davy has sucked the life clean out of them. Time he was sent down the road into the middle of a fuel protest and gets stuck there forevermore. Honestly have never seen worse. The biggest set of square pegs in round holes you will ever see!

Get whoever went to Dublin to meet Davy sacked. We're a complete laughing stock.

Well done Down, great result.

Well you wouldn't need to be Columbo to work it out.

Davy desperate for a job, nobody in the South with any sense would entertain him but his good friend Tony Shivers bailed him out. (Not sure Tony can be sacked 😞)

This isn't the best Down team we've ever seen, which makes our recent defeats difficult to swallow. Sheehan has done an outstanding job with them and they've clearly built something special here, hats off to Down.

I think the last time Down beat us before this year was around a quarter of a century ago. You could settle for being beat once, however twice, in the space of a month, well, that's frightening.

This is the result of chronic neglect of underage structures within the county for a significant amount of time. Despite the disaster which is the current management, this team just isn't good enough and what's coming behind them won't be good enough either.

Can't argue with above.

County and club teams slipping back this past few years.

How did U20's do this year?

Tony Baloney

Davy's number should be up at the end of his contract this summer. Will lessons be learned is the big question?
