This is very boring - anybody want to talk about the football this weekend? Ardboe should beat Moy by 3/4, Carrickmore will beat Augher even though they are not setting the world on fire at the moment. 2 great games in Intermediate and both could go either way. Pomeroy and Dungannon are capable of playing very fast football but will come up against tough teams in Greencastle and Gortin. Just fancy Greencastle and Dungannon to shade it. In Junior will go for Derrytrek, Clan na Gael, Owen Roes and Rock.

What would happen in Ardoyne on Saturday if there were no police or no media present?

Dear Redhand Santa, this is my wish list for the Tyrone management team. Please feel free to tell me if you think they are doing any of these to an acceptable level:
1. Develop a system of play that suits the current squad
2. Improve the young talent in the squad that should be as good or better than any in the country given their record at underage level
3. Oversee a strength & conditioning program that will enable these players to meet the demands of the modern game
4. Motivate the team on match days to be at least as committed as the opposition in going for 50/50 ball
5. Unite the county behind the team
6. Manage media commitments of players to ensure that over exposure does not hinder performance
7. Enhance the reputation of the county
8. Have a succession plan in place for whenever it is time for the next management to take over

I know that there are great people in the present set up, management and players, but for one reason or another they are no longer doing their job well, or at least the parts outlined above...........

Please could someone (the Tyrone management) tell Sean Cavanagh to stay away from the media for a while.......he is quoted every day about one thing or another and culminated in him and Dick Clerkin having a love in on Sunday! Now which team did that suit better???? How about saying nothing for the next couple of months and concentrating on playing a bit of ball. The media attention has also adversely affected Niall Morgan. He could do with keeping his head down and doing the basics well.....then in a couple of years he might be the keeper he is capable of becoming!!
All aspects of the media is something that i dont think the present management are handling too well!!!

Christmas Lights - i will tell you my solution but though it would be fair to everyone it would never be allowed to happen:

Players that are good enough to play for a county team can train with the club once a week throughout the club season i.e. train for your club on a Tuesday and county on a Thursday and do strength & conditioning in between.

Have a 6 day rule instead of a 13 day rule therefore allowing more club games and less or no starred games.

This would also give much greater windows of opportunity to play championship matches throughout the summer.

DON'T STOP ALL GAMES if your county is good enough to get to Ulster final, latter stages of All Ireland and keep to 6 Day rule.

DON'T STOP ALL GAMES if your minor or under21 team is good enough to get to Ulster final, latter stages of All Ireland.

You will say "what if one of our star players gets injured playing for the club" and i will say back to you "what if a clubs star player gets injured this weekend and cant play for his club in the championship?" At least if some of the above points were taken on board it would be more of a level playing field and people like me would do less complaining. In fact i would suggest many more club people would get fully behind the various county teams.

The county team had 6 months to prepare for last Sunday. They started training in November, played 5 McKenna Cup games and 7 Division One league games.........almost uninterrupted preparation..........yet they didnt have a settled team.....didnt have a gameplan A never mind B.......yet clubs are supposed to do this in days never mind weeks! And they dont have the backroom expertise that the county team has!!!!!!

Rush it through, tick the box and back to the county......happening everywhere.......Kilmacud Crokes have 100 adult footballers and were beat in the Dublin championship last week......club season basically over at start of May........nobody cares.......another £150k from Newry on Saturday night......Ulster Council delighted........surely some day soon club players will make a stand....where is that boy O'Neill who started the GPA?????????????

So Tyrone played 5 games in McKenna Cup, 7 in league and the county panel have had 4/5 months of uninterupted time together but could anyone even come close to naming the team that will start against Down? I was trying to have a go but got stuck after Morgan!!!!!!!
