I would love to know what Bannon booked Miskella for? Either a red or nothing surely? I don't fancy his chances of playing in the all ireland final either, surely TV evidence has to be used here
Thought they coulndt do anything now he's got a yellow?
no, didnt ryan Mc Menemin get yellowed for the Paul Galvin " balls" thing,, and still was held accountable

No, I think he managed to even escape a yellow though I stand to be corrected.

You can't say that either. Look at how Tyrone turned it around against Kildare. Tyrone may well win, regardless of whether it was against 14 or 15 men.

Sure, it can't be said with certainty but if any team is equipped to play with a spare man it is Tyrone. McMenamin would be the ideal man for this role I'd imagine. But on the evidence of the first half Tyrone can't live with the pace and power of Cork and if they had a full complement I would be convinced they would win well. Now I;m not so sure.

Jimmy Joe reckons the "blues" are good things! ;) Probably be an even money bet.

Harps to win by 4
Ogs to win by 2
Killeavey by 2 tonight - followed by a 3 point win over Granemore
Whitecross to win by 5
see on the OC killeavey were beaten by 18 pts . :o

St Patrick's beat Killeavy 1-18 to 0-9 in Friday's Armagh SFC replay at the Athletic Grounds.

Gary McCurry scored the goal for St Patrick's in the 18th minute and it helped thenm establish a 1-9 to 0-2 lead by half-time.

Tony Donnelly landed seven points for St Patrick's while Louth forward Mark Stanfield was Killeavy's top scorer with three.

The winners of Friday's game will meet Granemore in the quarter-finals.

Pat's and Cruppen who are both safe. We play one of the two next week I think, so Im assuming theres a full round of fixtures to try and sort this relegation business out pronto.

Clans should be ok then cos they will more than likely beat Cruppen whose season is over. I honestly believe Culloville could now pull off the great escape. Would'nt be surprised to see them pull a fly one and get the Ogs game called off if it is down for next weekends fixture.

If Culloville beat the Ogs they will have had some come back from near certain relegation only 5 or 6 weeks ago.
That'd be the type of them bastids!

Would expect Mullaghbawn to beat Dromintee whose season is already over.
Killeavy should beat Sarsfields whose season is over.
It all depends when Culloville play Pearse Ogs. If they play them next week, expect Ogs to win. If, however they play them the week after Ogs almost certain Championship exit to Cross then expect Culloville to win this game and send Killeavy and Mullaghbawn down. Thats assuming Clan na Gael pick up a point from their last 2 games which is by no means certain. Who have Clans left? I think its St Pats and someone else

GAA Discussion / Croke Park Pitch
August 09, 2009, 02:21:05 PM
The pitch doesn't look to have fully recovered from the re-laying. In fact it looks worse than last week.

Pat Spillane:

'The big thing about Mayo is that they have a good subs bench. Look at Conor Mortiimer for example. Provided he has recovered properly from Michael Jacksons death he is a valuable player to bring on'.

Classic.

Does anyone know the next round of fixtures? Whether or not teams advance in the championship could have a big impact on who gets relegated now. If teams that are already safe get knocked out this weekend then their seasons are practically over.

yawn, yawn. This has to be the most boring column going at the minute. Same old repetitive drivel that doesn't even stand up. Face up to it Mickey, the Railway Cup is a relic from the past which the GAA frantically tried to promote in Dublin schools some years ago giving out free passes for children etc. The result was a 10,000 attendance a load of money spent on promoting and advertising and a hefty tab to pick up which resulted in a loss to GAA coffers. People just aren't interested in this competition anymore.

Martin Donnelly must be the only man who actually thinks his column is interesting. He seems to want to write about any issue except on the games and topical issues of today.

Of his two years in aussie rules he spent 12 months of it out with a career threatening injury. They have nursed him back thru the vfl in the second half of this season and won't rush him into the firsts now. your sources are very wrong as he already has a pro contract on the table.

Well, I suppose we'll not be seeing him in an Armagh jersey anytime soon so. How long of a contract was he offered?

I think I'll be paying the bookies a wee visit this week to see if that 1/4 on Cross is still available.

Crossmaglen bate us oput the door, think there was 30 or 35 in it at the end.

Dromintee.

Final score: Cross 6-20 Drominte 0-05

Unbelievable scoreline. Can this scoreline to be taken at face value or had Dromintee a ladies team out?

I admire him.

You see, that's the problem, people like you who actually admire the man.

Don't you remember the good old days when no one criticised us for that type of thing? When we rained on no one's parade, so that Kerry, Meath, Dublin, Down, etc., could win without worrying about the white and red; when we were universally admired for the great sports we were; when we never tired of the fruitless pursuit; and when we never won a bloody thing.

Who says you have to resort to these antics to win All-Irelands. Surely you can win All-Irelands AND play the game in the right manner?
