a lot of 1B teams are going to be like this in the last 5 or 6 games.

Yeah alot of 1B teams dont have alot to play for now only pride. Looks like the 3rd place team in 1B will be playing Killeshil. They havnt been going well at all this season but they will definately give the play off a massive effort.

division 2 will be the only league where a good few teams will be competing right to the end.

I don't want to turn this into a slanging match between our two fine clubs, so let me finish by wishing you well for the rest of the season.  I suspect that we will both be meeting again in 2008, only this time in the bloody Intermediate grade!!!

fair enough - dont like childish slanging matches. depsite what happened the moy played very well although they were helped by a lot of 'school boy' defending on our part. unfortunately for us and other clubs coming into div 2 next year it looks as though the moy will be there as well and with all their county men available for each game there will be quite a few hidings dished out like yesterday. i've said it before and i'll say it again - somethings not right when the moy will be in intermediate in 2008 while 2 seriously lesser teams will leapfrog over them into the new division 1.

also good luck to the Moy in the kilmacud sevens this weekend!

would agree that it was a despicable act from our player but before a moy person coming on here and giving off about a spitting incident they should remember that one of their youth players is up on GBH charge for biting a brocagh player. which is the more hideous? also the moy u-16 manager threatened to 'DO' referee Eugene McConnell in a recent match between moy and stewartstown. then there's last weeks little incident in castlewellan! the moy were no angels today especially the 2 cavanaghs with their constant goading.

It is not often we lose two big games in a row and it is do or die now for the Frogs.

wee bit racist there?

The Castle would swap the AI Junior for 1 Tyrone SFC.

out of curiousity what about a Tyrone IFC?

dont forget that greencastle still have an excellent chance of going up if moortown do the double. ironically when we went out of the IFC in 2005 after a brilliant run in ulster and all ireland jfc etc our next league game was away to eskra. we won 0-12 to 0-9.

surely hugh quinn cant still be playing?

Oh, yes, he is.  Hugh came on at half-time but was replaced late in the second half by another golden oldie, Peter Loughran!

if a junior or intermediate team did this theyd be saying that team had no future!

This idea of defending  liberty and freedom  is a joke, attacking Iraq was always about oil and only oil.The beauty of it all for the big men in charge is its easy to get support by telling the public through the media that the threat level is orange or pink or whatever. The americans are a very gullible people, they believe anything and the media are totally biased to influence them.

mannix, i finally agree with you on something!

Don't forget the current AI club champs The Castle. The first team from Tyrone to be all Ireland club champs ;D

how could i forget the castle's all-ireland! remember errigal, pomeroy (do brackaville count?), stewartstown & greencastle are the only clubs with ulster titles at adult level. we should be doing better!

BTW hoopsaaa are greencastle taking part in the all ireland junior sevens?

hope fianna win it now. thinking ahead to the ulster club champ and what team would you want representing tyrone against teams such as mayobrige, ballinderry and cross? the fianna would be the only team left that would cut it for me. if the other 3 teams won it they would just be happy to win tyrone but the fianna had a good run in ulster in 1989 - therefore the present bunch would want to prove themselves in ulster as well. i know it is a different level but when stewartstown won the tyrone junior in 2004 everyone was back flat out training the same week simply because we werent happy with just a tyrone title. every tyrone team should have this attitude when going into ulster at senior, intermediate and junior levels.

A chara,

You will have noted, in recent days, two serious incidents of cardiac failure involving elite soccer players. Tragically, Antonio Puerta of Spanish club Sevilla died after suffering a heart attack in a game on Sunday last while Irish player Clive Clarke is recovering after what has been reported as a cardiac arrest during an English League Cup game between Leicester City and Nottingham Forest. Both incidents highlight matters which our Medical, Scientific and Welfare Committee have drawn to your attention during this year. Media reports indicate that Antonio Puerta had suffered bouts of dizziness after previous games while the use of a defibrillator is reported as having been crucial in saving Clive Clarke's life. These incidents emphasize that

*         Players of all ages, club and inter-county, must be encouraged to complete the Cardiac Screening questionnaire on the GAA website http://www.gaa.ie/files/gaaforms/pre-participation_cardiac_screening_questionaire.pdf

*         All clubs must be strongly encouraged to purchase a defibrillator and train members in its use. I refer you to previous correspondence on this matter and remind you that defibrillators can be ordered through Croke Park at a total cost of 1,200 euro (including VAT) while VHI Healthcare will provide free initial training to four participants from each club who purchase a defibrillator through Croke Park. You can contact Stephen Brown at sbrown@admingaa.ie for full details.

I will greatly appreciate if you will highlight these matters with all your players, using every available means of communication. Many thanks.
