Have to say, I'm coming round to Paul Grimley's point of view; two weeks, two public stonings. No analysis of the London-Sligo match, just an assassination of a current manager by a former player! Our game deserves much better.I look forward to the day when another channel is in a position to compete with RTE!!!!!

It's time for everyone to brush up on their Gaeilge and hand it over to TG4.
Spillane didn't have a clue about gps but less of a clue how a proper blanket defence works. If he thinks Cork will run through Donegals defence or Kerry will play 2 long balls and they'll be in on goal then he is living in cloud cookoo land.
Then all we had was rushed through reports on the Leinster games and London/Sligo. More action, less Spillane is what's needed.
I think it's too late for me to brush up, I would happily watch with my cupla focal, wish I didn't understand bearla at times!

I think you've not been listening to the grapevine if you think that was an unfair assassination. O'Hara was pretty much dead on and will have the support of the vast majority of his county in what he said.
I never said it was an unfair assassination, read my posts more closely, just an assassination! No analysis,no other point of view,no attempt at balance and no attempt to analyse London's first win in the Connacht Championship in thirty five years! An absolute disgrace in my opinion!!!!!

Awful trite light tabloidesque "analysis".
Be better if they just had highlights of the games and leave it at that.
+1.

DORSEY vArmagh Harps early 80's.Harps powered by Corvan and Devy race into an early lead, ref awards Harps a penalty, L O'Rourke (I think) put his foot on top of the ball and says 'there'll be no penalties in Dorsey today'.The match ended there and then!

And he's called Ryan.As for Shane,I'd say he would have been his usual well-rounded self ;)

All-Tyrone final went Blackwatertown's way. Everyone happy.
Two insults in under sixty characters, only possible in Tyrone!

Will the Rossies dole out more pain to Armagh or can Kilcoo shock the world and end Cross' championship before Christmas?

Barring disaster Brigids v. Cross will be a tie between the
two best teams in the country right now. Breffini or Pearse Park? Sure we have to opt for the neautral Leinster venue in the interests of fairness  ;D
I think Dr Crokes would have a major gripe on reading that!
If you had asked me three or four years ago, I would have said that Three in a row All-Ireland Club C'ships would have been imposssible. If they win it this year it will be the same as about six in a row for a county team IMHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed there can be much too much revisionism, Paddy O Rourke and Keiran Mc Geeney carried out the same role for their respective counties.
Reel your fishing line in please!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to all who are on at better odds, but I'd have to say Donegal at 6/1 don't jump out at me when they're possibly looking down the barrell of Kerry,Cork and Dublin on the road to winning an All-Ireland! When I saw the title of the topic, I thought the subject was going to be the Dubs,if they really have anything in them, back to back All-Irelands have really opened up at just about the most opportune time!!!!!

I always thought Peter was a wee shite in this incident! When I saw this argument I studied the clip very closely. If you go to 50 seconds on the clip it takes you to the beginning of the slow-motion replay. In the slow-motion it is clear that Peter actually comes in under Mike Mc Carthy's arm,he certainly doesn't hit Mike's elbow with the front of his head, and goes to ground initially holding his hand to the side/back of his head.On hitting the ground he rolls,on coming out of the roll his hand is holding his face/eye area.I would have to say,if there was blood Peter must have removed an old scab with his gloves while rubbing his face!

Not a blip with the Season Tickets since I bought them in their first year - until this year, couple of disastrous experiences at matches and still have n't received them yet! Anyone else?

Great performance by Cross but this was after a replay and last year St. Brigids were very close to them. There'll be plenty of teams that'll fancy their chances against Cross and it'll be a very hard campaign if they're going to make it three-in-a-row.

The perennial parlour game, find an angle to produce an argument to suggest Crossmaglen are n't as good as their record suggests! There are plenty of teams who 'fancy their chances against Cross',however the vast majority can't even put themselves in a position to get to play Cross', those that do find only a very select few come out on top!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus, the size that chip on your shoulder must cost you an extra seat on buses and trains!

Thank the Good Lord for remote analysis, didn't even notice the chip myself far less realise that others could, don't use buses or trains! Seriously though, where where do you think Igot the chip?  ;)

Looked like a blatant dive for the penalty but the damage was done before that when the footblock went in. Stone cold penalty and the right call.

Can't argue whether it was a foot block or other foul as I was too far away so have to accept the ref's call, but the dive that sealed it was extravagant and disgraceful, really disgraceful for a GAA man, and has no place in gaelic football (even if it was perfected by "God" himself a few years back).
On MOM it is hard to disagree with Poland who depite being on the losing team was a whirlwind of craft and skill - although as a Down man I would have diven it to Donaghy.

If you watch the recording of that incident you will see that Rafferty was diving over the top of the Down player in an attempt to get to the ball on the ground before the goalkeeper.
