Sunday 8th Nov 2015 at Dungannon

12.45 pm  - Donaghmore v Kildress
2.30 pm - Carrickmore v Clonoe

Would rather these games at a different pitch. Dungannons playing surface is woeful.

What pitch (with the right spectator facilities) is going to be good in November?
Dunmoyle?

Dunmoyle a good venue. Much better than Dungannon.

Pomeroy would be best in my opinion - pretty close to them all (and better venue than Dgn)

Pomeroy best for what exactly?? A dump of a ground with third world facilities. No place for a game where the wind has an impact all year round

Owen Roes beat Glenelly, then Tattyreagh who had previously beaten Castlederg. This saga could run and run due to appeals after the mess at the bottom of Div 2

Its a hobby innit. No obligation to go to football. I too will opt out next year.

Yes I agree no obligation, I'm not disputing that. What I'm getting at is the fact he was only too happy to play all last year when the rock where riding high on an all Ireland junior run, then when they needed him most he decided to step aside. Not a real clubman if your asking me, that's what separates the senior teams from intermediate/junior.
Its only an opinion but I believe that the quality and quantity of players of a certain standard is what separates Division 1/2/3. For example Greencastle are division 1 because they have many good players. Do you think that the Greencastle team that was in Division 3 had as many good players, but they just weren't committed enough?

That's a fascinating insight. What else might separate teams in sport throughout the world? Alphabetical order? Nice jerseys?

There is usually a lot of talk of matches being "fixed" near the end of the season but does it actually happen?  I think there is a lot of talk but it rarely/never really happens.

It's going on a long time. If you think it doesn't I presume you're still a fan of Santa and the Easter Bunny

Mea culpa- Omagh reached the semi final of the grade 2 two years ago losing to a Loughmacrory side who played Grade 1 this year and who can count themselves very unlucky not to have won it last Sunday. IMO the big townie teams should all be playing Grade 1 football at youth level

Funny you should mention that - I see they did the u16 double this year in grade 2 - congrats to the lads involved but should a club with the pick they have not be automatically grade 1?

I do agree. I'm confident they've put their teams in lower grades to ensure that they win titles. There U16 Lads definitely should have been Grade 1- just look at how easily they won in the finals. The Girls also easily beat Owen Roes in their final.

There's nothing worse than when any Club does that. It means that Club's who are in the correct grade dont get a chance and the players don't develop because they only play easy games.

Yes grades are there to give everyone a fair shot at a title. I don't know the exact figures but did Omagh not win 4/5 U16 grade 1 titles in a row or something? I know its not the same players but it does illustrate their strength and I just hope they didn't think to themselves this year that they couldn't win G1 so they would drop to G2 and clean up!

That's exactly what their thinking was. They got to an U14 Grade 1 final 2 years ago with vast majority of those players so should never have been allowed to drop a grade.

Has a team ever played in Intermediate and Senior Championship finals in consecutive years before? Or better still, lose an intermediate final then win a Senior final the following year. Fair play to Trillick, their progress is an inspiration to all clubs.

I think it will be loose the inter and then loose the senior. Just think Killyclogher will edge it. Good luck to both.

Don't think there will be anything 'loose' about Trillick. Killyclogher will rightly be favourites but it will be a tight enough affair going by both performances at the weekend.

Some consolation for Dromore yesterday as they see their friends and neighbours reach the final.

Seriously can't figure out taking a cship semi final to  Pomeroy.  Carrickmore togged out on the stairs last year as there wasn't enough room in the handball alley

I thought the referee had a very good game overall. These games can be difficult to handle at times and I thought he got the vast majority of calls right, including  couple of attempts from Myler to 'buy' a free.
Justy was harshly blown up once for over carrying, but I cant think of many others.

Good to hear ref getting some credit, unlike the abuse dished out at Lough/Killeeshil U16 game on Saturday

Ah Jeez, don't leave us in suspense - what happened at this U16 game? Were Kileeshil not meant to be virtually unbeatable at this grade?

Had to have a scapegoat as they didn't win

How many years from a team retained the championship?

Carrickmore about ten years ago I think

What do ye do? If the player wants to play for his county you have to respect him, Whether you feel he should be starting for county or not only 15 can so always gonna be someone unhappy.

Its mickeys call and he has seemed to get it spot on this year. Ye don't know how close mc shane is to starting should someone get injured like colm cav so I understand why he doesn't want to risk releasing him

Not saying  anyone is in the wrong here.  Completely agree you can't risk him.  Mc shane started against Donegal so he is obviously very much in mickeys plans.  I'm just highlighting that in the lower leagues the impact of losing a star player is even more pronounced.

If McShane had been available for the games he missed I think OR's would be at least another 3 or 4 points better off, Junior is very tight this year.

Bookies odds for the Quarter Finals

NEWTOWN 1/1 BRACKAVILLE 4/5
BERAGH 5/4 DRUMQUIN 4/5
TATTYREAGH 4/5 FINTONA 5/4
DRUMRAGH 5/2 AGHALOO 2/7

ALL DRAWS 7/1

There is one that really stands out there for me.

I fancy  Newtown to beat Backaville. They seem to be hitting a bit of form lately.

Beragh should have too much for Drumquin who still depend heavily on some of their older players. Is Rogers fit?

Fintona and the Tats should be an "interesting" one.  No love lost between the two sides but the tatts   have the better footballers  and i would expect them to win in a close one.

Drumragh at 5/2 look good value.  Big gap between the two on league form but Aghalee needed a late goal to beat them in the league and drumragh drew ar Owen roes last week. Having said that, aghaloo usually grind out the results so I ll go for them in a tight one.

As far out as a lighthouse with the predictions so far
