A brave woman.

She said her doctors estimated she had an 87% risk of breast cancer and a 50% risk of ovarian cancer. "I decided to be proactive and to minimise the risk as much I could," she wrote.

Are Ball Boys started being used at big matches i.e. behind the goals giving the ball back quickly to the goalkeeper?

The 30-year-old was injured early in the second half but played on before going to hospital after the match.

He told BBC Radio Manchester: "I'm not too bad, it sounds worse than it is.

Looking forward to this especially the Rugby and Basetall.  Channel 4 are showing it and it will be interesting to compared their coverage to BBC's.

The following is a link to the schedule.

Is there such a beast exist?  i.e. a system that combines a radio, CD player and mp3 player that I could add mp3 files to.  It would be powered like the old sound systems and not a docking station as most appear to be.

Currently using an old laptop which is telling me that there isn't enough Virtual memory so I can't add more mp3 files.  Seems such a waste to buy a new laptop just to store mp3 files.  Would it be better buy new memory and if so what should I ask for/get?  Wouldn't be that computer savvy.

If I have to go the docking station route, are there mp3 devices with good capacity out there e.g. 128, 256GB (I'm assuming capacity goes up in powers of 2).

Thanks in advance.

GAA Discussion / Hogan Cup Final
April 02, 2012, 03:56:09 PM
Fermanagh vs Offaly in an All Ireland football final.  Who'd have thought but how long (if ever) will this translate to Senior county success?

Will it be on TV?

GAA Discussion / Man sent off. How do you manage?
March 23, 2012, 12:03:57 PM
This is a thing that happens more often now the 2 yellows and you're off.  It always appear that the team with 14 men play better (ask Cavan) but what is the thinking for the team with 15?  Use as sweeper (another sweeper), play extra man in defense, what?

I wonder if you played the extra man as an extra full forward would that work?  Is the extra man more of a hinderence?

GAA Discussion / Perfect Pundit Panel - You decide
March 16, 2012, 04:08:03 PM
People here are giving out about the quality of coverage of GAA on RTE.  Is it the Punditry, Commentary or the the Games shown?

My perfect GAA television team would be.

Anchor - Dara O'Cinnede

Half time analysis - Colm O'Rourke, SBS, Joe Brolly, Peter Canavan

Commentator - Brian Ivers (the guy from TG4)
Co-Commentator - Micheal Diegnan

General discussion / Bulmer Specials
March 07, 2012, 05:34:43 PM
Just saw the advertisement for these.  Bulmers "Spiced Apple and Honey"  and "Spiced Apple and Rhubarb" .

Has anyone tried these yet?  Those flavours look like they would taste like cough medicine.

Surely no good can come of this!

General discussion / Theatre Recomendations
January 10, 2012, 04:14:38 PM
Just because its theatre, doesn't mean it is not funny.  Though i'd really love to see Hamlet again.

If you want a laugh, The Night Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down is returning to the Olympia in Dublin next week.  Go on and have a laugh and a singalong (you'll be surprised how many Joe songs you know!)

The Night Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down is a real treat for his fans and theatre lovers alike – a night of comedy, drama and music. Imagine being stranded with the legendary Joe Dolan in a rural pub in Cavan on the night his car breaks down. That’s just the sort of fantasy scenario that’s imagined in “The Night Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down” a new play written and directed by Padraic McIntyre.

General discussion / Tax on Pensioners?
January 08, 2012, 09:28:40 PM
What is the big fuss about?

THE OFFICE OF the Revenue Commissioners has refused to rule out the possibility of back-taxing pensioners who have understated the amount of income they were receiving.

General discussion / Movie recommendations on TV.
January 07, 2012, 12:52:50 PM
Just thought I'd start this thread so that if people see that a movie they rate is on TV they can highlight it.  Can't really put it on the Movie recommendation thread.

Tonight on Channel 4 looks good.  Dodgeball at 10 tonight followed by LA Confidential.
