''the free at the end was prob correct but marginal and dont think it should have been given'', if you thought the free was correct, why do you think it shouldnt have been given?

In reply to the post about Corofin having no problem playing Tuam Stars in Tuam Stadium, Tuam Stadium is not the home ground of Tuam Stars, they have their own separate grounds and in fact have nothing to do with the Stadium, due to their success over the years Corofin would be more used to playing in the stadium than the stars would.

Is it not a bit odd to have a provincial final literally on the home field of one of the finalists? I presumed the final would have been in one of the provincial county grounds.

Provincial club games can now only be played in a nominated/designated county ground, Kiltoom is the second Roscommon county ground that's why the game can be played there. In days gone by provincial club games could be played at the home club, but due to health and safety I guess that is no longer the case.

Galwayman in response to your query about Peadar O'Griofa, unfortunately he did his cruciate a few months ago, so that will explain why he hasn't featured.

I never saw him playing or indeed farming, but Noel Tierney, full back on the galway 3 in a row team, was by all accounts handy around the square and the farm

Every county indeed does have wasted talent. You  might remember a guy from Galway called John 'Scan' Concannon or just simply Scan. He won a Hogan Cup with Jarlaths in 94 his third final in a row. Scored 3-1 on his Connacht Colleges debut as a 15 year old. He also scored something like 1-7 against Dublin in the 94 minor semi fnal. he disappeared off the radar very quickly. he did return this year to manage his club Milltown to a county final appearance after a long absence.

Stephen Bray from Meath has been a class act so far, hopefully it doesn't continue on Saturday.
