Yeah I have neer been a fan of any controllers that aren't the ones that come with the actual package even for the ps1 and 2... I hate playing with one of them always, esp the ones with the stupid extra buttons... For the PS3 you just plug the lead into it and connect it to the PS3 to charge it, as if you are using a wired controller.

I was thinking of getting Tiger Woods 09,i have been brilliant at the other ones if i dont mind saying so. Playing Madden 09,have had every one of them since the Sega Mega Drive in the early 90's. Is there much difference in the HDMI cables? The price ranges from about £5 to about £30,fella told me they are pretty much made in the same sweat shop in Asia somewhere anyway.

But I got the PS3 last xmas from the GF and decided to treat myself to a decent tv for the new house so I bought a 42" Panasonic Vista and got the HDMI cable. Have to say it's a great job. But have kinda neglected it of late as trying to sort this house out. Haven't bought a game for it in ages so once I get all sorted am going to have to get GTA or COD.

i would say with a budget of £200, 19 - 20" is what you will get.
might sound stupid but if you get the dimensions, cut cardboard to the same size and put in in your room to see what you think.
ps no matter what they say - size does make a difference

so if the hole is 300 and the big circle is at 350, pull it back to the hole, it may say 80%, this is what you are trying to get.

you can go into the lobbies and set up a game from there
best way to search for people is to have them on your friends list, that way you will know if they are online and playing FIFA, send them a message and meet up in the lobbies to play

I am addicted to Pro at the minute, am on a one man mission to get all the unlockables opened up, you have to win a world cup with each team to get their classic team, so far I have brazil and england done...
Am in the middle of doing a premiership to unlock the english hidden players
Also started a become a legend mode game where you control one player inthe match, a lot harder than it sounds, I started one up front was pretty much starved of possession as my runs weren't great, but then scored a screamer volley in the top corner so got a good contract!!
Got that Buzz TV on the go last night, an early birthday present from the woman, its some craic, we had five of us playing taking turns for someone to sit out. Covers all areas of trivia. says there is voer 6000 questions and didnt see any repeated last night, you can also download the extra question packs from the playstation store..

Na you need to install the demos etc but it doesn't take that long. As for the memory issue just delete them when yuo are finished, simple!
I would strongly recommend anyone getting Guitar Hero, got it there today, early present have been playing it all aftrnoon, I love it. Only playing on the easy level at the minute whilst I get used to it, only three notes to use, when I step up to the four and five notes I am going to be fucked but at the minute I am rocking out big time!!

My new Guitar arrived today!! Its a Fender Stratocaster and it is class!! Already beat my brothers on battles, I need a challenge. Suppose I can just work my way up to that young fella aboves level...
Also got the special edition Smackdown versus Raw 2009 (special edition as it comes with a mini wrestling ring replica case!! and a best of smackdown blu ray which I definitely will watch), this game is class, I don't watch wrestling bit I used to be addicted when I was younger... Metal Gear Solid and Bioshock are both lethal. MGS4 is VERY long if you watch all the cut scenes. Bioshock is like nothin else out there, its one of the most innovative games i've played. Set an enemy on fire, then electrocute them when they run for water :D

Got Bioshock there the other day with Smackdown but haven't give it a chance as I have been playing Smackdown flat out, the roads to wrestlemania game modes are class!! Have already done the road to wrestlemania with the Undertaker, I continued his unbveaten streak by beating the Boogeyman in a Hell in a Cell match, I give him a tombstone on the top of the cell put the f**ker through it, he was bleeding and everything, don't mess with the dead man.
Started one last night with Triple H, it is class, but I am getting pulled two ways, Randy Orton wants me to start Evolution again and Shawn Michaels wants me back for DX... I haven't watched wresting in years but I am still getting into the storylines, they are class!

Shrek I have those three games myself and mainly playing Tiger Woods at the minute. I nver really liked shooting games but COD is brilliant. Buzz is great craic if you like those sort of games. Have that Little Big Planet too but haven't really gotten into it yet. When you have any more than 3/4 games you end up not playin some of them at all.

yeah its pretty good, COD5 is out atm.
obviously two totally different games so hard to call between them
COD 5 is a really good game, it's tough enough going in places but the action is fantastic. The online options are good too, the Nazi Zombies are a good laugh.
I also got FarCry 2 and Fallout 3, only getting going on FarCry now, it seems pretty good though you'll want time on your hands to get into it. Fallout is meant to be excellent, the wee bro has it for the 360 and loves it, very addictive when you get into it apparently. I'll leave it til I get over FarCry!
Both are going for £20 new in Game, at that price they're worth a rattle, considering smeplaces are still trying to flog Fllout at £45!
Was in Game today looking through the pre-owned games for PS3. Fifa 09 was there pre-owned for £39.99 yet on the side of the shop with the 'normal games', top 10 sellers etc was Fifa 09 on sale for £29.99!
So anyone want it brand new get it new in tneir sale instead of pre-owned.

How can the WII be lesser when it's been a run away success (just like the PS2) and re-launched Nintendo into the home console market? Personally I have found very little difference between games available on the PS3 and Xbox360 consoles and that's only because I have worked in the industry and can tell subtle differences produced by the different architectures. In fact I would say Sony has nothing in the pipeline that will show off the "better hardware we are led to believe it contains" of the PS3. Also many games run better on the 360, GTA4 runs at a higher resolution on the 360, how does this make it superior?
In fact IMHO it shows how they completely got their business model wrong. While MS went after the monopoly that the PS2 shared on exclusive titles (main reason I purchased GTA4 on the 360 was the future exclusive downloadable content) and focused on development of their online gaming service with the 1st Xbox; Sony wasted all their cash on developing this super console. MS achieved the same by developing their platform using the existing technologies and manufacturing processes in place. Sony neglected what the gaming community wanted and now it looks like they will never recover to the heights the PS2 reached. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this is the last console they produce, that is certainly what the industry is indicating at the moment.
In the past the software houses relied on the exclusivity deals with individual platforms to make a profit. They now appear to be following the similar business model to movie making where the smaller studios align themselves with large distributors/studios (not MS or Sony); do you think EA or Take Two want to lose a large chunk of their potential market by releasing exclusive titles on a particular platform? In fact these large distributors now hold all the cards, that's is why industry analysts believe that with have seen the last console war with games being run on the same standardised hardware in the future. With the costs of producing and distributing a game now outstripping the many movies, EA and the likes will push to standardise hardware much like movie studios don't like supporting different video formats (Blu Ray vs HD DVD, VHS vs Betamax ect...).
Back to the post though, in the UK an Xbox 360 with WiFi adapter (not everybody needs Wi-Fi too) will cost 205 quid from Amazon. The equivalent PS3 80gig (that's what Sony are comparing) will cost 280. Comparing the cost of the PS3 to the cost of an Xbox model no longer on sale is, the HDMI output comparison, is a load of balls. In fact the Sony propaganda department must think we are all idiots. There are lots of hidden costs with a PS3 HDMI cable, Headset, Dual shock 3 (I got mine with crappy Si-Axis controller) ect... I don't think they are very objective in their comparisons.
Also the term Blu Ray gaming is a huge red herring, I can't think of any studio that is planning to release games exclusively on Blu Ray due to the development/distribution costs involved currently, this may change but then I think due to the modularisation of the Xbox hardware, MS can introduce it or more likely they will move to a download service model. You can also bet though MS have looked at these options already. In fact the industry agrees that we will eventually move to a download/subscription model for games (Studios will go for it because or the lower packaging/distribution costs involved); by the time Blu Ray games start to appear they may already be obsolete.
Finally Xbox Live is far superior to PSN. The popularity and number of people registered on the service confirms this and people don't mind paying for what they see is a far superior online experience/product. If you look at the EULA for PSN you will see they reserve the right to charge for the service at any time, something Sony admitted they may look at in the future. You can be sure if they ever get PSN sorted or the popularity of their platform increases to Xbox levels, they will start charging. In fact while I had RRoD on the Xbox I was play Call of Duty 4 on PSN (before you start on the RRoD – I'm currently on my 3rd PS3 since release while I have only had to get my Xbox fixed once. Although Sony replacements are there within 24 hours much better than a week or 2 with MS), the servers on PSN are so slow; it takes around 20mins to get into a game. This is virtually instant on Xbox live. The quality of opposition on PSN is inferior too Especially on FIFA 09 and Pro Evo 09 ;-)
Personally I think if the PS3 came out at the same time as the Xbox it would have been a run away success. Unfortunately for Sony it didn't and now IMHO I think it's a total flop and I don't think any Sony marketing propaganda can cover up the facts. I just have to look at how often I buy a game for mine over the Xbox version, its always just exclusive titles to Sony I purchase, which are very little at present.

I have it. Played it for a while over xmas, really liked it but got pissed off, no 'base' as such. I know you can get a house in the first town if you defuse the bomb but in my game the sheriff got shot. Anyone know a way around this?

The kids' PS3 won't work at present - when it's turned on it was showing the wavy thing at the start, but wasn't getting to the logon screen. I did a few resets, and now even the wavy screen has disappeared - any ideas??

got my child one last christmas and have had to get it replaced twice with two hard drive failures
The Hard Drives don't appear, from what I see on various fora, to be the most reliable pieces of kit.
Yeah I've had a few issues with mine, I'm on my 3rd PS3 having had 2 hard drive failures so far. Complete pain as the drives failed completely and I couldn't recover the the data from the drive. Sony will send out a replacement in 24hours if its under warranty though.

you should back-up the hard-drive regularly anyway.

you should back up the data you have on your PS3 hard-drive - even if it is only games, this saves all the game data you have.
i have photos, music and films installed on my PS3 as well as the game data.

It's for online, allows you to play four extra maps in team deathmatch ect.... I think they are Broadcast, Creek, Chinatown and Killhouse(not available in team deathmatch).
Creek is a completely new map, complete bas**** when you start from the bottom of the map. The team starting on the high ground always wins.

You could just get a hoover and put it against the grille where the fan is.
Sometimes if mine gets knocked off suddenly, like if I let other people play it and they just flick it off at the back without turning it off properly the next time I turn it on the fan is very very loud but then I just reset it...
I would give mine a hoover once a week or so if I am giving my bedroom a good clean out...
How do youse all set your PS3's then? I have mine standing as I (maybe stupidly) think that this would prevent it from over heating! Dunno if this is true or not...
Regarding games at the mo-I decided not to play any other games until I finish GTA4, I am currently at 66% and have completed most of the side missions so shouldn't be long now... Have to say its probably the best game I have played, I love it. My playing time is sitting at 46hours! Near two days, I have had it since November though...

Anyone got the new Legends of Wrestlemania game? Couldn't wait to get it, but slightly disappointed with it. Graphics, entrances, classic moments etc all good but playing the actual matches is very hard. Unless I'm just useless at it. All i seem to be able to do is punch him and thats all.
Its better having a hard game that will take you a while to get used to... Then think of the satisfaction when you crack it...
Played LOW last night properly for the first time, its good... Doing the Relive game mode, you go thru classic Wrestlemania matches and relive them, you have certain objectives to do to get points and thus unlock the next level... Last night I was Hulk Hogan fighting King Kong Bundy in a Steel Cage match with Bobby Heenan outside annoying me!! Good craic... The highlight reels with each match are great, cant wait to get the Stone Cold/Rock ones...
LOW is good but a bit easy i think, i had all but two trophies left to get after two days gaming, haven't played it online yet, although i usually find as with all games that i think i'm brilliant only to go online and get completely humiliated! >:(

If both ppl have solid connections then its fine, sometimes takes a while logging on though which is a pain.
Plus if one person has a dodgy connection then it is death, the ball jumps all voer the pitch you dunno what you are doing then when I hit cancel the game I f**king lose points!! Whats the deal with that?

yeah, that happens on FIFA sometimes, although i dont play ranked matches anymore against randoms. most of the time its some complete noob who ends up quitting.
might just invest in Pro Evo then.

sometimes when i play unranked games i pick Derry City for the craic - i have had it loads of times where the other player actually changes from (say) a 3 /4 star team to Man Utd / Chelsea / Barcelona ???
Ok heres a question for any of you ps3 GTA4 players out there...
What button do I need to press to perform a 'cover' move? Like if I am at a door and instead of just walking in all guns blazing, I stand back to the door and periodically fire into the room... Same as if I am at a wall half my height, crouching down, and just standing up every now and again to shoot...
In some missions you do it automatically, like one where you rescue Roman and you are automatically behind a wall, or one where you are robbing a truck full of heroin from some chinese fellas and are covering behind a wall??
I am about 70% through the game but it is getting harder and harder and I cant remember how to do this cover thing, I am sure they learn you at the start of the game but I forget!! I don't wanna use cheats!
Lads is Legends of Wrestling worth getting. Is it similar to Smackdown vs Raw? If it is I dont think I'd be interested in getting it. Though it has to be better than TNA iMPACT, bought it a few months ago, a terrible attempt at a game.

Nah the controls are nowhere like SvR Galwaybhoy, I believe they have made the game more 'arcadey' on purpose, with their only being about 50% of the controls that you would use for SvR... Took a while to get used to but now I am really flying through it trying to get all the trophies!
The relive, rewrite and redfefine game modes are excellent... Each match you attempot comes with a little highlight reel movie, giving you an insight of why there is a feud between the two wrestlers, and then a highlights of their actual match at wrestlemania, good memories! Then you get a set of objectives for each match, so you can't just go out and pummel them, there ae things you have to do... The Stone Cole versus The Rock match, my last one, took me about 45minutes to complete as one of the objectives was to reverse the Rock Bottom, took me ages, kept getting slammed and nearly losing the match!!
Haven't started on the Legend Killer game mode yet but its where you make your own wrestler from scratch (I have heard you can make Doink the clown pretty easy, they have all his attributes laid on for ya) and then fight in gauntlets, with the more fancy moves etc you do the more experience points you pick up to boost your created superstars attributes after the match for your next one!
Think I might whack it on here, you've got me going for it!
Which is better, Legends of Wrestlemania or Smackdown vs Raw. Finally decided to treat myself to a PS3 and intend getting a wrestling game. Haven't owned one since the original Playstation, and they were always great craic

Round 3 is excellent, the controls made the game. Round 4 is continued with a different studio, if the keep the control format the same it should be good but I can't see that happening. I thought round 3 was as close to perfect you could make sports/boxing game.

GTA San Andreas is much better. The missions in GTA 4 are all very similar and get boring after awhile. Its a good game but I thought it would be better.
IMO MGS4 is the best game on the PS3.
Also cant wait for Fight Night Round 4 and the new Ghostbusters game :-[
I got bored with GTA 4 after a few missions and haven't bothered with it in months.
Maybe Im getting old :-[ but I don't get the same kick out of playing the PS3 as I did the other two Playstations

I hear the new one has taken the series down a more action road rather than the survival horror of the first few which is a disappointing for me as there are enough action games out. I remember being in the Police Station with the eerie music on Resident Evil 2 on the PS1 on the edge of my seat with every step I took and door I opened waiting for something to make me jump.

Loved it on ps2 but played the demo (on 360) and the controls just put me off. They're really sluggish or something and there's not enough ammo!! Really frustrating when it could be a great game only for a couple of simple things.

Resident Evil 4 was pure quality I thought and I absolutely loved RE1 and RE2 back in the day, haven't played RE5 yet but it'll have to go a long way to improve on the fourth installment.

I thought the early GTA games were good with the bird's eye view. I dont like the PS control system at all, hate the way you use 1 analogue to look about and the other 1 is for moving it's hard to get used to.

AFAIK you can only have one PSN account...
you can have a number of accounts, just use different addresses
i have a UK, Irish and USA account
gave hotel addresses for the Irish and USA accounts, USA one is good for the PSN store - usually some things are on there before UK one
as for master account - of the top of the head you set up a master account for yourself, then a sub-account for the children.
you can always put in a false DOB :o to let them bypass all that.

Play.com are doing the 80gb version i think for £250 at the minute with a free blu-ray. At least you know its new coming from there.

I completed GTA, after 57hours gameplay I am done... Even though I am only 89.83% done in the game, but I will be fucked if I am going about and killing those dirty wee pigeons...
Dunno why people have been so hard on this game, I have never seen graphics like it before and the detail was immense. Thought the storyline was very good as well...
Now what do I play next? I have three games not touched yet: Bioshock, Uncharted and The Godfather.

Any of you with a PayPal account should be extra vigilant when playing online. A mate of mine was recently contacted by PayPal to say that they had blocked a transaction from his account. Someone had tried to scam money from him. When traced back it was someone he had played online in Fifa (the persons gamertag was the same as the e-mail address used to scam him, Rooney_cfc), he doesn't know how they got his details but PayPal have told him that this is an ongoing problem with both PS3 and Xbox

Playing through Uncharted at the min, only on the fourth chapter because I have been busy but have to say its a real gem of a game!
Games I have in the pipeline to get: Fight Night, UFC, Batman, Ghostbusters and maybe Wolverine which I have heard is good enough... Then obviously Pro Evo when it comes out later in the year...

What a completely different game from the PS2, I'm so shit at it! On the PS2 I was winning the world cup with Finland and on this I'm spectacularly crashing out of the group stages of the Champions League with Liverpool!

I think the PS3 is worth the money, you can play games, online access and you have blue ray as well.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is the best game on the PS3 imo, if you like those sort of games its worth getting, though you might find the story hard to follow if you haven't played the other games but you could always wiki it.
Madden 09 is great if you like NFL but it might not be worth getting as Madden 10 will be out in July or August. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is brilliant, I'd recommend that (much better than 5 which is not a sequel to it), the sequel to COD4 is called Moderan Warfare 2 which is out in November, but COD4 is worth getting.

And the only reasons I hear given by anyone who says the modern warfare one is better is that the weapons are better (well yeah, they're modern weapons and not WWII weapons) and that there is and has been too many WWII games.
They may be first person shooters but are completely different games and, you're right, not even made by the same people.
Grid and Dirt are both racing games but you wouldnt say one was better than the other, they're both different types of games.

Our Nail convinced me to get Pro Evo even tho others had told me fifa was the way to go. I'm a Pro Evo man at heart and so far I've found ti very difficult which for me is a huge plus so I'm gonna withold judgement for a while yet!
Incidently, phones4u are giving away a free PS3 with an Oranfge contract that I was gonna get anyway in the Orange shop! So I phoned gamestop to see if they would refund my PS3, I only bought it yesterday like, has all originally packaging and have only used it once. They said they would only give me the exchange used price as it had been used and they could not refund it? Surely this can't be right? I should be entitled to a full refund if it is within the 7 days and its in perfect condition?
I think you would be due a full refund, take it to a different gamestop and dont tell them you have used it. Try and package it up as best you can. Beating that damage it and say thats how it was sold to you and you want a full refund. Sounds like its time to fight dirty. If those options are exhausted you may get more from Ebay than the exchange price they give you.

Dont go for the EA ones Our Nail, the 2K sports ones are the way to go. Played the recent basketball game, NBA 2K9 great game. Graphics unreal. NBA 2K10 probably due out in October like rest of the sports games. PES 2010 is out on 30th October, Fifa 10 (spit) is out on 2nd October.
But the EA ones are the ones that I used to play at uni an all, and they are more expensive than the 2k ones, and they look shinier!!
I am torn.

Good man ONL. Went and got one today off a friend of mine that owns GAME in Omagh. Got an 80gb PS3. Not much of a gamer, mainly got it to be a media centre and Blu-Ray player. Got two films for it, Zach and Miri Make a Porno and Tropic Thunder. Will get my iTunes copied over in due time and CDs. :)

The Dark Knight is the only Blu-Ray I have at the minute, it is spectacular in hi-def... Heard Wall-E is suprisingly good on Blu-Ray as is the Planet Earth series if you're into that sort of thing.

The NHL 2K would have to go some way to beat NHL09 - definitely one of the best sports games I've ever played. Pure class

Gameplay wise its the same, but it does take a bit of time to really get into it (it did for me anyway - the last ice hockey game i played was on the Megadrive too), but once you do it's really good, especially two player

I think the PS3 is worth the money, you can play games, online access and you have blue ray as well.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is the best game on the PS3 imo, if you like those sort of games its worth getting, though you might find the story hard to follow if you haven't played the other games but you could always wiki it.
Madden 09 is great if you like NFL but it might not be worth getting as Madden 10 will be out in July or August. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is brilliant, I'd recommend that (much better than 5 which is not a sequel to it), the sequel to COD4 is called Moderan Warfare 2 which is out in November, but COD4 is worth getting.
Games I'm looking forward to right now are Fight Night Round 4, Ghostbusters and Modern Warfare 2.
I find it really hard to run the ball with any success in Madden 09, any advice?
I'm not that great at the game tbh. Not the best at running the ball, but try a few things like the handoff and the spin and a few of the other moves, takes ages to to get the hang of but it should help you gain a few extra yards once you get the hang of it.

Was looking forward to it but I think Forza 3 will be better. The reason GT5 was delayed was due to Forza 2 deliveing the planned online functionality the GT series years earlier and probably better. Probably will buy both though as GT always had a good soundtrack.
Quite like the look of Little big planet on the PSP though.

Yeah saw the trailer, have never really got into the COD games, my girlfriend got me the latest one there at Xmas but I haven't gave it a go yet... Think I will once I complete Uncharted, everyone I talk to loves it, especially the online play.
Gonna get Fight Night, Ghostbusters and maybe the UFC game once the first two come out...

I am pretty excited about Ghostbusters too, glad they have the old cast doing the voices and that Ackroyd/Ramis wrote the story for it...

I have got Fight Night, got it there lastw eek, only got playing it for about an hour and a half so far though I really like it... I didn't expect to like the use of the analogue for punching an all but its good enough... Have only played 'friendly' matches so far, mostly with Ali and Calzaghe, the graphics are class.
There is a legacy mode where you start off as an amateur fighter from scratch and work your way up, heard that its good, fella I work with says its great.
Whats the story with downloading films? Was on a site ps3divx.blogspot.com and was trying to download the hangover. It took over 3 hours and then it stopped at 52%. Is this normal, is there generally an easier way to download films for free?

I played it only briefly but it is better alright IMO. They slowed the game down a little and it makes it more realistic. Last year everything went at 100mph. Players don't run out of bounds for no reason as much although it still does happen every now and then. There is more of a TV style presentation of the games also.
Finally going to bite the bullet and get a PS3 soon. New offers too good to turn down. I see there is a 250gb slimline being released on 1st October for £280. Can get the 120gb slimline, 3 games and a blu ray for £300 in Game. Seems to be the best deal about. Any other good deals going about?

Your onto a loser there with Pro Evo. Edge's review called Fifa the greatest/best (can't remember the quote exactly) sports game ever made. They normally don't review either game as they are incremental updates and they have made a point the last few years of not bothering. This time they made an exception with Fifa ;)
The last 2 PES games have been a disappointment too; last years was good but no where near as good as Fifa and don't get me start on the previous incarnation.

Five years ago I would have agreed with you. Fifa though have now got their act together and Pro Evo have taken their eye off the ball lately. I'll read more about both before I decide but I have a feeling it will be Fifa.

Pro Evo 07 was the last good incarnation. 08 was fatally flawed, especially in online play which was something FIFA nailed that year. Konami even admitted it was a dud game and released loads of patches/vaporware trying to fix it. Last year FIFA was just an incredibly slick product.
Your always gonna get the people who chose one series over the other because of some blind loyalty to the series. I for one lost faith in a dated game engine and rubbish online play though. I bought FIFA last year just for a change and the superior online play; the Be A Pro mode online is fantastic and much better than Konami's effort (it was just a port from a pro evo game released in Japan previously and never really felt right). I was at the Pro Evo European launch party and it took everyone by surprise how good FIFA was; I even got a free copy at the Pro Evo launch party in Europe and never played it after that.
Archie - Your the DUP man with your never, never, never attitude. Pro Evo was the best up until 07 but after that they lost a bit of direction and the game engine got dated compared to FIFA. You have your opinion, one which you cannot back up I must add from any creditable sources ;) Just give FIFA a chance you know you want to :D
Have to agree with the FIFA followers. On the PS2 i would have always been a Pro Evo man, then as previous posters say, konami lost their way and FIFA has taken over.
the online play (which is all i play) is not even comparable between the two.
i have played the last two FIFA's and thought 08 was great, 09 had lots of improvements but i thought the AI was terrible, i am really hoping EA have sorted out the small problems which i found in 09. looking forward to Friday for FIFA10.
just got one of the ps3 slims last night. traded in my ebox for it and already its been alot easier to set up than the xbox was. I had the internet going in a matter of mins when the xbox took hours. handy...
i got COD world at war and Little big planet with it (one for me and one for the child). world at war seems a quality game but not as good as COD4. cant wait for modern warfare2...

i was also ALWAYS a Pro Evo man - each of the last two years i have downloaded both demos and IMO so far Pro Evo doesnt stand up to FIFA

You see, I'm not a fanboy. I don't follow either game with blind loyalty, I will buy which game is the best. In the late 90's it was FIFA (FIFA 98 is one of the best football games of all time). In this decade International Superstar soccer took over (now known as Pro Evo), and their simulation game was streets ahead of FIFA's arcade game which was only all about looks and licence's but had no substance but sadly people didn't listen to the old saying 'don't judge a book by its cover' and continued to buy a terrible Fifa game year after year. Pro Evo gradually took over but then a few years back Pro Evo seemed to get lazy and EA Sports have taken advantage of this. They have worked hard and produced a pretty good game last year and have now taken over Pro Evo as the number 1 soccer simulation and completely got rid of the arcady feel from their games.

Funny, most reviews of last years FIFA and Pro Evo say the opposite. Pro Evo was the easy pick up and play ardcady game; FIFA was more of a simulation and had more depth which required more time invested (which I agree with and I played both games). It may be a personal preference to play Pro Evo and thats fine but your wrong about the skill/difficulty level.
I spent lots of time and money on ISS and Pro Evo but the fact is the franchise went stale and past it's sell by date (it's the Gary Neville of football games). I used to be able to overlook the lack of licensed teams, crappy menu's, soundtrack and commentry (Although scorchio on ISS brings back fond memories :D) when it was the best football game by far.
I really hope they turn it around but judging by the demo's and the fact FIFA 10 is a cracker of a game (never mind possibly the best sports simulation ever made) I very much would be surprised.

Always been a Fifa fan but also bought PES over the years,The best PES was the one with Pierluigi Collina on the front cover,I was living with a few lads when that came out and we played it for hours on end..
I like the demo version of PES 2010,but why do they make the sound of when you kick the ball so loud,its really annoying

Anyway, could never get in to PES, f**k sake you pass the ball to someone and it'd take a half hour to reach them and there's just no excuse for poor, tacky and cheap looking menu system.
Anyway, I havent been able to download the demo of fifa 10 so main question is, is there that much of a difference between Fifa 09 and 10 to justify spending 35 or 40 quid on it?

Have to say played Fifa on the Xbox there yesterday and it's top notch. And I would always have been a Pre evo man.
Think for the first time in years I might have to sway to the new Fifa rather than PE for the PS3.

I like it. There's very few differences in the gameplay but it seems to be more realistic, the players movements seem less restricted which is good. Goal Keepers are a lot better though maybe a little too good and not a reflection on reality.
Menu systems are a lot better I think. Been playing manager mode, I'm in about February now, I haven't got any transfers despite several attempts. Players turning me down because I'm not experienced enough as a manager so I think it's a lot harder to transfer, I can sense that's going to get frustrating. Was it the 07 or 08 FIFA it was really hard to get players transfered in?
I wasnt going to get it if it was £35 or £40 quid and I don't think it's worth that money considering the differences between it and Fifa 09 and the other games coming out between now and christmas but I was happy enough paying the £26 for it.

Excellent, for 27 quid it's hard to turn down.
Haven't had much time with it but they have certainly polished up be a pro mode. The gameplay is very fluid, I especially like the way the opposition try to play the quick free kick (was caught out the very first time) and it takes more patience to score. Visually it's not much different to 09 but it's all the little tweaks that they have improved on. I haven't been as impressed by a football game since I first saw International Superstar Soccer.

You can call for a pass you know ;) I always play in midfield for be a pro, you can influence the game loads and see loads of the ball. You have to be good though :P
The DS is a hard one, I have a DS and the Cyclo DS card and have no complaints.
The problem with the DSi is Nintendo can update the firmware with it, therefore they render the cards for playing the copied games unworkable. Once this happens the card manufacturers will push an update out to get round the firmware update. I would expect the new games being release to require the latest version of the firmware (as the PSP does) and hence you would have to wait for the card manufacturer to crack the firmware in order to download it. This constant game of cat and mouse is why I couldn't be arsed cracking the PSP.
At the moment there are no games specifically for the DSi, that will change but i'm not sure what is in the pipeline. I would look at the DSi cards and see what the story is, if they are pretty good, then I would go with future compatibilty with the DSi. Otherwise if your not worried about it, the DS is a great machine. If it helps, I have no thoughts about upgrading mine, don't see the need.
I'm not that bothered about cracking it to be honest, I reckon a few games will do me grand cos I've the xbox at home and any of the big titles I'd be buying them for the xbox (if available) and not for the DS.
I'd buy the DS lite, it is cheaper and I'm not bothered about the extra features on the DSI but I don't want to be in a situation where 12 months from now they are releasing games for the DSI and the DS and DSI are being phased out.
Oh and on be a pro mode, I suppose I play it like I would in real life, stand around at the edge of the square waiting on someone to pass it to me so I can have a shot.
Very impressed with Fifa 10. Have always been a pro man and the last Fifa i played was the 2004 one which was brutal. The gameplay is very realistic and you really have to time your jumps and aim your passes. Real Madrid are ridiculously good in it and Drogba is near unplayable.
I've always loved Manager Mode, especially starting off at really small clubs (Darlington anyone?) and building up experience stripes.

Whats the craic with the manager mode? Is it actually like a Football management game like championship manager?
Yeah Mickey, except you can play the games, sim the games (if things are going badly at half-time you can play the second half ;)) or sim the result.

I was playing FIFA 10 last night and during a break in the play Andy Gray and Martin Tyler they start talking about the great atmospheres in small stadiums like Stoke and Hull and big European nights at Anfield.
Andy Gray then says just because you have a big stadium thats holds 70k+ doesn't mean you'll get a good atmosphere,like Old Trafford for example where he has often found it very subdued :D

Bought Fight Night the other day. Very good game, thought I find the training a bit too hard tbh. Climbing the Weltherweight division with a record of 15 wins 12 by KO, 1 lose and 1 draw. Hopfully a title shout in the not too distant future, after my next fight I'm hoping of to schedule a fight against The Magic Man and push on for a title after that.

have to agree, im not liking FIFA10 that much either. I had stopped playing FIFA09 half-way through and had hoped 10 would be much better - unfortunatley it hasnt, might have to try PES10

City are the dogs balls Charlie. Just don't like it in general. Few things annoying me about it. Doesn't matter who I play as. From the demo's, PES was better, hopefully will be the same for the full game.
Having played PES 2010 for most of last night, I can say it was worth the wait. Far superior to FIFA 10. FIFA can have all the fancy kits and what not but PES 2010 is all about gameplay and IMO is far superior to FIFA.
Got Tiger Woods 10 at the weekend, the Oul putting is hard enough to master and there is far more detail in the greens, undulations, slopes etc so you might think you have hit a good shot and it rolls off the green. Really good game.
Have played the demo Minder and impressed with it. Might trade in the woeful FIFA 10 for it this week, now that PES 2010 has regained it's rightful spot as the king of football games.
Would be more into my sports games but getting an interest in GTA IV and probably will buy COD: Modern Warfare 2 when it comes out. Can't wait for Gran Turismo 5 to come out.

It's not woeful, it's just your a total fanboy and can't admit the truth. Arguably PES is a step in the right direction (even though I personally think it looks poor graphically in comparison to FIFA) but I haven't read a review yet which says its better.

Also seen the trailer for DJ Hero which is coming out soon for the PS3. Looks good especially with Daft Punk being in the video. Though I hate these type of games, esp Guitar Hero and I wouldn't spend £90 to get it though, but would want to play it for a while to see what it's like.

Opinions are fine when you back them up. Saying a game touted as possibly the greatest sports game ever made, by one of the most respected publications( EDGE) in the industry, is woeful in my opinion is nonsense. Fcuk me even Dunphy talks less sh1te :P
DJ Hero is looking good from the previews, although I reccon it will take a couple of iterations to get it right (like rock band and guitar hero). I'll probably get it just for a change from the usual drunk wrecking about on rock band on a Saturday night.

Archie I havn't played PES10, but I thought that the PES Series started to go down hill after the version that had Henry and John Terry on the front. PES 6 I think it was, before they changed the name to go by the year instead of the version. Would you disagree with this?
I have to say though PES 10 is a very good game and a huge step in the right direction. I wouldn't be disapointed with it but it's just no where near as polished or much a simulation as FIFA.

I completed Modern Warfare 2 (the storyline) and played online for awhile but I'm not very good at it.
So does anyone have Resident Evil and without any storyline spoilers was it worth buying? Going to start playing it soon...

Havent Heard / Read alot about this one but what i have heard is that it isnt as repeitive. So as soon as i can get COD out of the PS3 i will buy Assassins Creed 2.

The new RE is nothing like that! I didn't get that panic factor at all through out it, it felt like I was played Metal Gear Solid again!
Dead Space on the other hand - feck. Went to play it a few times when the fella was away to the pub and ended up scaring the knickers off myself!!

Thats what I need! I'm a big horror fan and thats why I love the old Res Evil games and the old Silent Hill! I'm a bit into this new one and see what ye mean, all action and I haven't jumped once yet! Will look into Dead Space, tbh I never heard of it until thebigfella mentioned it.
The first Silent Hill's were awesome games!! Tried playing it so many times with the lights off, and maybe lasted all of 2 minutes each time!

I have both Res Evil 5 and Dead Space. I loved the earlier Resident Evil games where you were creaming your pants playing it - cold sweat breaking out everytime you opened a door.
The new RE is nothing like that! I didn't get that panic factor at all through out it, it felt like I was played Metal Gear Solid again!
Dead Space on the other hand - feck. Went to play it a few times when the fella was away to the pub and ended up scaring the knickers off myself!!
Was a huge fan of RE - but would say to def get Dead Space instead!!

I cant get my ps3 online. f**k. The signal from the wireless router is quite far away from the ps3 and i cant move it close as my da the router connected through the main PC. I can pick up wireless on my laptop no problem but cant get the PS3 connected at all, its only picking up 5% signal. Does anyone know if i can attach an ethernet cable from the phone line to the PS3 or does it have to be attached from the wireless router to the PS3. I could find an ethernet cable that would reach from the phone no problem but definately not from router to ps3. Is there any other way around this???

Shazam the Ethernet cable would have to come from the router itself if that's the way you want to connect it up. Unless you get another router and set up a mini network round your house and have it close to the PS3 to connect wirelessly or through ethernet cable. Not sure if that would work or how to set it up. It's best connecting via cable as you get a more stable connection for online play and iPlayer etc.

f**k looks like a lot of work. So do you think i should get another router and set it up from phone to my room then get an ethernet cable from that router to the PS3. This is doing my head in, have got COD and get using it on the net which is the main reason i go the game in the first place.

The bit of Far Cry 2 I played I liked, I've to get back in to it again. Loads of people thought the first creed game was excellent too, the trouble is that people will come on and say a game (or a film/tv programme etc) is shit rather than just say it's not the type of game they enjoy.
shazam, I'm not sure about the PS3 but on the Xbox if you're laptop is picking up the wireless connection you can run the cable from it to the xbox. You might want to try that with the ps3.

I would fully agree with that and I have often argued that with people but I still feel the complaints people have had about Far Cry 2 were justified.
I got Batman Arkham Asylum the other day. Very good game. Normally any tv show/comic book/film thats made into a game I wouldn't have looked at twice but I heard that this one was different and was one of the best games of the year. It hasn't let me down yet, well worth buying especially for any Batman fans out there.
My controller has 1 red light flashing continuously and won't respond/work/connect all of a sudden after working fine since i bought it 3 months ago
It needed charged though but even on the cable it's still flashing
Does anyone know how to fix it lads?

They always flash when they are connected to the cable AFAIK, thats a sign it is charging. Is it still working to play games with?

dunno about the star wars, i had them playing the lego batman demo on her one time though and they seemed to enjoy it, but they have been playing mario kart elsewhere and are mad about it - surprised there wasn't that type of a fun racing game out before. Thanks anyway.

i thought AC 2 was very good, just finished it last night (finished story anyway) - couldnt be bothered going back and collecting all the treasures and feathers.
Might have to get uncharted then.
Uncharted 2 and Batman were my favourite games from last year. Uncharted is brilliant online as well as the single player.

Does anyone know if it is possible to organise the videos on the PS3 hard drive into different folders? Currently I just have all the video's there, in alphabetical order. Would like to categorize them into folders for films, tv shows then a folder for each different tv show etc. On the last PS3 I used, there was a folder for each letter the file started with, but cant see anyway to create your own folders.
Got it sorted.
If you press the square button you can choose the sort options - name, date, album name etc.
To put videos into different folders, go to the video, press triangle, go down to information, change the album name, then sort by album.

It doesn't exist and never will. The likelihood this is the last generation of consoles as we know it.
I think it was mentioned that the PS3 was future proof for many years. Most updates will be software only as the hardware is the best there is.

Sony have a 10 year roadmap for it. I would predict eveything will move into being hosted in the 'cloud' with subscription based models the norm after that.

OK managed to pick up a Ps3 with 5 games for £100! so happy enough.
Came with Res Evil 5, pirates of caribbean, juiced2, and 2 other games I've not tried.
What else should I get? I like FPS mainly and adventure games. Not fussed on racing games

It's ok, I'd rather Fifa 10 - there is a good bit of it changed. The gameplay isn't as....smooth, for the want of a better word. It's too easy to score. one of ones in fifa 10 were very hard but they're simple in this, kick the ball towards the goal and it'll go in. Easier to score long range too. Free kicks very difficult to score from, crossing is better though. Big improvements on the ref, he's does less blowing of the whistle and stays out of the way of the ball!

No,I can't get the wifi in my house working at the moment so I can't connect PS3 to internet,the PS3 is in sitting room and broadband comes into the box room bedroom upstairs

Had the xbox for few years, but only started playing online recently. More of my friends play on Playstation Network so thinking of swapping. Only thing is that the trailer for Gears of War 3 was released recently and that might complicate matters.

there's the slim ones with 120gb and 250gb memory. There's only about 30/40 quid in the price difference as far as I can see anytime I've checked prices.
The older versions have less memory but I don't know if you can still get them.

There's also something wrong with the TV which is annoying me, the channel I on is ok, but there's one where the picture is far better quality but the sound doesn't work. What xbox have you? was reading on xbox forums the other day that the launch consoles would be worth 50 or 60 quid trade in. I wouldnt have a clue myself though.

Only just started playing this one, really impressed so far, havent went online with it yet.
Is Gran Turismo 5 out for the PS3 yet?
I got Fallout 3 the other day and just started playing last night. Can't get my head around it at all, too mush going on but it seems immense.
I know there's a lot of guides and walkthrus out there but can anyone recommend one that shows the basics and gets u up and running without being too detailed?

I think Fallout 3 is possibly the best game on the PS3. You need to spend some time learning the gameplay tho.

Ah it is. I've finished the story now and I spent hours this morning rambling around finishing off stuff, hours left in it yet and that's not something I'd normally do in games, not when the main story is finished.
Think I've spent about 30 hours on it now.
Bit of a problem with my wireless controller. The dog knocked my drink over and it spilled over the controller. I didn't notice at the time as I was devastated about the loss of drink..
I've tried taking it apart and cleaning all the crap off it, but its still not working (the X and Square are not working).
Anyone got any other suggestions - aside from buying a new one that is!
I've now finished Uncharted 2. Superb game and the best I have played on the PS3 so far. Anyone played the first one in the series? Is it as good?

Having a bit of a problem with my ps3 and connecting to the Internet etc
the wireless went down in my house and after an hour on the phone to bt it's been sorted. My laptop and phone can connect no bother. Only problem is that I can't get the ps3 to connect when there was never a problem before. I've tried restoring default settings, setting up new connections etc it can find an ip address but cannot connect. Keeps saying there is a DSN error. Any help would be appreciated?
Is it a wireless connection? If so have you tried a wired one?
It is and was a wireless connection alright. I can't run it off a wired connection because of where it is.
You think you're having problems... my PS3 has decided to stop reading game discs. It reads DVDs fine but none of my game discs are working on it :-[

What's different about it? I was fairly handy at the other Tiger games.

I didnt have the 10 one, just 09 and I didn't play it that much.
I don't think there's a great deal of difference but the ryder cup is in it - they also have a view where you can't look at the map or haven't the distance to the flat and all that - suppose like real golf. I thought that was impossible but I suppose the golfers might like it.
I'm generally ok apart from the putting. I can get it to the green in a couple of shots and 10 shots later I'm still trying to get it in the hole ffs aaaaaaaaaaaaaah sometimes I even hit it off the green again.

Bought it almost two years back from zavvi which is now online only. I also have the recipt stored away safely. So safely that I cannot for the life of me remember where that safe place is.
You'll only have a year's guarantee with zavvi unless you purchased extra insurance or something?

Thinking of getting the curse of monkey island 2 game as I absolutely loved the first one on PC a right few years ago. Don't think it is out on disk for ps3 so need to download it. Just noticed that it's on the app store too there but the ps3 would be a better option
Got a ps3 today, playing uncharted, the first one - it's some game - but what the hell is with all the updating and the length of time it takes!

Which one? I got the Stimulus one, had 2 great maps from COD4 (Strike and Vacant) and 3 new ones, one of which I really liked (Trailer Park) and the other 2 (Carnival and Fuel). The other one is the same sort of thing, i.e. 2 maps from COD4 and 3 new ones.

Played it twice, got completely different endings both times. The challenge is to keep your four characters alive! I finished the first time with two living and the next time with two again, but different characters this time, even though I knew what to do I couldn't stop some of the things from happening.

sorry never noticed your post. i havent used it in a few months but i usually just found the movie i wanted then hovered the curser over the media window. hit triangle (i think) which brings up a menu on the right. Then it is something like file, save target as, ok and download. i'll get a better look at it this evening.

I'd like the kinnect more but the room my set up is in isn't big enough as your suppose to be something like 10ft away from the sensor thing to play!

I was going to get it purely for Tiger Woods golf,but seemingly by the reviews they rushed the PS3 version of the game to get it ready for being compatible with the Playstation Move and they reckon its not as good as it should/could be,next years version should be better they say

very enjoyable yeah, it needs more games for it though and I need more space.
It's 100% accurate from what I can see so far.
I'm waiting for the tiger woods demo to install now (the PS need to do something about all this installing you have to do to play something) but I'm not sure I'll have enough space for it.
Tiger woods on it is unreal.

Depends what region you are registered in. You are likely registered as an Irish adress now. If you set up a new account with a uk postcode you will be able to get utv player, iplayer and 4OD.

U maybe need to register a new email address in uk aswell. It can definitely be done, know fellas with Japanese and US accounts that allows them to get different versions of the Playstation store

Downloaded a film on Playstation network, when I go to watch it I am asked for a 4 digit password. I can't ever remember setting one and have exhausted my list of passwords. Can I reset anywhere?
It seems to be a parental control thing, i can change it in settings but I dont know my current password......

I would keep an eye on hotukdeals.com too for cheap ps3 games too. Gone are the days of every game costing £40, unless you are in HMV !

I've always had awful trouble connecting to friends in games, especially the COD games. I know the game makers have a lot to answer for but psn has to be better too. I know people with xbox's who don't have the same problems

PSN is poor performance wise but it worked and will work as before. The rebuild has nothing to do with fixing the performance.

I was half expecting something similar to GTA but it's nothing like it. It's a bit glitchy here and there but I'll forgive them considering what went in to it, it's a great first effort for this type of thing. In the next one I'd like more freedom though.

Good to see the palystation network back online again. 2 free games for everyone who had a PS3 account before they went down. I went for Wipeout HD and Dead Nation. Wipeout HD is great but the other one is crap

I downloaded In famous but when I went back to download the second game I can't find the option to download another one.
Had the same problem LL. But if you load the machine then scroll across to the Playstation network menu, then sign in, then account management, then transaction management and then into download list. You should be able to start downloading it from there!!

You go to "services list", not the download list and pick the offer and it should have the option there.

What?! Yeah I'm still at it though I'm playing it along side about 10 other games though so I might be finished it by Christmas. It is a bit repetitive, another thing they'll need to change in the next one.
On Saturday morning I felt like a change and stuck on Assassins creed that I've sitting here about two years and I'm hooked!

Tried that still no joy.
I can't access the screen to download the second game. Still I got one free game but I should be able download second at a different time surely?

Yeah you can change controls in the full game.
Actually after a few games of demo I don't see much change from last year.
Lads has anyone got any experience of the Playstation Move?
Reason I ask is because I have a Wii and a PS3, I very rarely use the Wii but I am going to invest in more games/equipment for one of them to make the most of it. If it helps I would mostly be interested in sports games like golf/table tennis and maybe the odd FPS. Which one would be more worthwhile going for? Another bonus is the PS3 is available in HD while I don't think I can get my Wii in HD, maybe it's because it's an older version, or Nintendo doesn't support it?

Yeah you can change controls in the full game.
Actually after a few games of demo I don't see much change from last year.
I only played the demo of the last one but wasn't keen on it - thought it was too fast or something, trying to be the same as fifa - this one seems different, might get it when it's out.

Well I wouldnt get any stuff for the wii as there's a new wii on it's way - think it's due out next year.
I've the ps move - it's quite good but probably needs more games although I haven't looked at games for it in a while. I'm too lazy to use it all the time though. If you don't use the wii would the move not be a waste of time?

I think a lot of people change the controls over to the Pro Evo ones, that is what I always did when I played it.
Haven't played a football game properly though since I left uni. Might get this new FIFA though to see what it is like.
Haven't played a game since Heavy Rain I think. Going to get the new Uncharted, Batman Arkham City and Modern Warfare when they come out though.

if you go into settings and change the wieless controller settings
then R1 or L1 i think, i shows you what the controls are for attacking and defending, you can change them about i as far as i know
how are you finidng FIFA12, i sold FIFA11 after a few games, but i am liking FIFA12
i am only starting to get to grips with the new defending, its hard as hell, but much better than the old way.
Have heard about this 'new defending' a couple of times now. What is so different about it?

I tried connecting the PS3 to a Bluetooth headset at the weekend and I couldn't get it to work. Some of the lads go on for a bit of slagging during a game and I was trying to get in on it.
I enabled the device and paired it. Connected. Started the game and nothing. The green light is flashing, I hit the volume button...nothing.
Any suggestions?

The new Bond game is out. Anyone got it? Got GoldenEye many many years ago and was a great game back in the day
Will get Uncharted and the new Modern Warfare
Day off work and I am not feeling well so I treated myself to Uncharted 3 and Batman Arkham City.
Playing Uncharted first, the first two are probably in my top five games ever and this one has started great too. Only on the fourth chapter so far but the graphics are stunning and already it is like playing in a movie.
Will get a crack at Batman once I complete this and then MW3 next week and that will be my gaming finished for another year probably.
I might get a playthrough of Red Dead Redemption or LA Noire as well, not sure yet. I go through phases on the ps3.

Red Dead is absolutely brilliant. Definitely worth a go. LA Noire is good as well but got a bit repetetive before the end.

Red Dead Redemption is UNBELIEVABLE !!
LA Noire is a let down--very wooden and your not in control of the game.
Red Dead is GTA on a horse-awesome, awesome game. Awesome on the horses--i've spent nights hunting bears and deers etc just to skin them and get more money from their hides for ammo. It's unreal.
Pro Evo 12 is different class--first Evo since changeover from PS2 that is actually playable-you can beat men again at pace etc --recommend it

Have been tempted to buy it everytime i have been in a store with games. Have a few spare days next week, might spoil myself with a new game. Gold has made my mind up on LA Noir. Sent the woman to buy it one day and she arrived back with fabric softener!

Don't be so sure, I've a 24 hour asda beside me but it won't sell the newly released games until 9am!
Its better than MW2 in my opinion but not as good as MW1. I dont play online at all and have it on xbox but Id imagine it will essentially be the same

They were selling it alright POG. The queue at game was unreal. Don't know why anyone would stand there
I remember being at game in Forestside with a mate for MW2 as he had preordered with a deposit. Queue was mental and was still long about half 1. Another mate of ours had gone to Smyths across the road at 12.10 and got it without a queue and for cheaper if I remember correctly

I rang my internet provider and they said i might have to change the nat settings
How do I do this ?

Just finished Far Cry 3. Brilliant game. Can anyone recommend something similar?
What's the craic with new ps4? Anyone buying it. Haven't really heard too much about it or what it is going to be like graphics wise etc.
I won't until its out at least a year or two Jim. When the PS3 was launched it was basically PS2 standard games with better graphics. It took the developers a while to realise it's potential and for games that lived up to the billing to start to come through.
Consoles have fell woefully behind PCs in terms of fidelity at this point, pre-ordered a PS4 with Amazon when they starting allowing it so I expect I'll be getting a launch console if the funds allow. The remote play on the Vita and the fact the PlayStation Plus subscription I've already got is going need me some free games for the PS4 in the coming months just makes the jump easier.
I think once we move beyond the launch windows (where there will be a glut of games that began life as current gen games but have been tarted up for next gen releases) the jump will be swifter than previous generations because both the PS4 and Xbox One have switched to x86 processors and mostly off-the-shelf computer components, meaning developers won't have to get to know the new architecture like they perennially had to with new console releases.
Watchdogs looks totally amazing but it's been pushed back from launch to March at the last second. Next is the nature home to that game, even if there is going to be a current gen skew.
