Terrible decision to play an early championship.

Under Lights

Fair play to Dromore for going ahead without their county men! Would have thought the likes of Clonoe-who were playing a team with no county players- would have done the same not like they are in for a relegation scrap

The talk last year was that clonoe don't care about the league so surely it's not a big deal that they were away and missing 3 or 4 games? Chances are some of them would have went anyway and missed championship preparations if it had been early September which would have been worse. If they wanted teams to get a 2 week break for ulster it could have been worse again as they'd have missed it.

The season is to disorganised and disjointed but I don't see the championship being early and boys going to America when out as the biggest issue.

You honestly do not have a clue, you are that clueless I can't be bothered explaining it

Redhand Santa

So they should have dragged the championship out to September so those boys wouldn't have got a holiday in America and played 3 or 4 extra league games that they didn't care too much about anyway then got beat in the championship at that point?

There is a lot wrong with the club season and I did suggest some decent fixes earlier in the year but I'm not sure if the worst thing coming out of the early championship was those boys going to America, some probably would have anyway.

Dromore won by 14. Fair play indeed on playing.

Dromore very lucky to win by 14 in the finish up. Greencastle ran them close and only missing a few men could maybe have pushed on. 3 late goals makes it look like a hammering.

What about boycotting the Tyrone county team or bring banners highlighting the club player's blight at county games?

maco

Goals_Will_Come - not sure where you have got your information from regarding the Dromore/Greencastle game, but Dromore totally dominated this game from start to finish, scoring 2 of their goals in the first half. Greencastle did tag on a few scores in the last quarter after Dromore had emptied the bench.

Well making sure that your club makes its annoyance known at tomorrow nights county board meeting would be a start anyway.

Judging by the attendance at the Limerick match in Healy Park, many are boycotting already.

Very easy to boycot games when the team aren't going well and don't look like winning anything. The same men would have been on the pitch in 08 celebrating and would be the first yapping for tickets if the team got to the all Ireland final this year.

No serious county with ambitions of doing anything would be playing club fixtures the week before a knock out championship game. Tyrone more than most the amount of injuries that come out of these and the squad is alright light.

In my opinion of round of starred games should have been played last weekend and announced now that the next two weekends were free. Then of Tyrone were still in another round of starred games the week after that. Assuming Tyrone didn't get to the semis it all would have been fine.

The players and management team have put a lot of effort in and deserve the support of all football people in the county in a big game against an old rival Meath. We might not win the all Ireland this year but there's plenty of players that could learn and develop from a good run.

Redhand - completely agree with the above and don't see how this talk of boycotting helps anybody. However, most people have no issue with giving the county team the best chance to succeed, it's the sheer stupidity of not using these starred games when they're available - complete madness! That and the fact it was the Wednesday night before a decision was made - surely a decision could have been before the limerick game laying out what would happen. Then to try shoehorn a round of games in on 21st, the night Tyrone train, just goes beyond belief!

Redhand Santa

Totally agreed, the way the county board handled the hold thing was extremely poor and unfair on club players. It's hard to work out what the logic was. They knew Harte would ask for them off so no idea why they put them on or then gave in when he asked.

Could a round have taken place on the Tues/Thurs night after Limerick.

About 17 free weekends comin up, Sallys and McAleers be shhtuffed now! How's the lads guna get a court now if they can't tell the girls what they scored and show their scars
