I know this was done before but I'm actually making a request.

Would love a copy of the 1977 game between Dublin and Kerry.

And since the hype may have died down, is there anyone who stills thinks mayo vs dublin in '06 was the best ?

Derry v Down in 1994. Best game ever. I have the video if you want to watch.
Down Championships Prediction League Winner 2009

Hard to be subjective but Arm/Tyr 05 semi. Titanic battle. For some reason, Geezer and his point at the end of the first half sticks out in my mind.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Can't agree with that. It was really good, the best of many years but the best ever ? Nah man. It was at least as good if not better then Mayo vs Dublin '06.

For quality the 05 final between Tyrone and Kerry wouldnt be far away. Some terrific scores that day. It probably involved the meeting of the 2 best teams of decade with both being at full strength. Lets hope we can see a proper All Ireland final this year - 04,06, and 07 have been complete write offs.

ONeill

I think you need to look at the quality of the sides. To compare the Mayo Jackeen game to the Arm-Tyr is like a minor to senior. Mayo went on to get hammered whereas I believe Armagh would have matched Tyrone in the final. That semi was a real collision of genuine heavyweights slugging it out.

Agree, an absolute classic, the intensity was unreal.

Wrong, Kerry are the team of the decade, so tyrone and armagh cant be the two best teams. Kerry are going for three in a row, they have won four plus lossed two All ireland finals in the decade, never mind Natinal leagues to boot...this is a no brainer. Just for you a reminder of those years.

2000 Croke Park Draw: Kerry 0-14 Galway 0-14 63349
Croke Park Replay: Kerry 0-17; Galway 1-10 64094

2002 Croke Park Armagh 1-12 Kerry 0-14 79500

2004 Croke Park Kerry 1-20 Mayo 2-9 79,749

2005 Croke Park Tyrone 1-16 Kerry 2-10 82,112

2006 Croke Park Kerry 4-15 Mayo 3-5 82,289

2007  Croke Park  Kerry 3-13  Cork 1-9 82,126

ONeill

By 06 both sides were heading downhill. During Sept 05, Tyrone had a core of players at their optimum fitness, intensity and in ONeill and McGuigan skill levels. We havent reached it since. Armagh may have been short of their absolute peak in 05.

I was talking about Tyrone and kerry being the 2 best teams of the decade if you read what I wrote.

And the decade isn't over yet, so maybe Kerry will yet beat Tyrone en route to the title  :P ;)

Blue and Navy

Connacht Minor Final 1995 Galway 2-14 Mayo 2-11. Brilliant game, brilliant players, brillant finish. And that Galway side proved just how good they were with 5 of them winning a Senior in 98.

The '89 McCrory cup final Colmans v Maghera, ended 4.10 to 4.9 or some such ridiculous score - tohill v mccartan amongst others, superb stuff - although of course the passage of time tends to improve such games.
