Sure didn't we send the aul boy to Kinsale last year when he hit 60. TYP will fit right in but it's full of coffin dodgers, ONeill.

Thanks HS!   Don't expect to find many coffin dodgers in Punchestown.  Did it take your Da to get to 60 before he got beyond Finaghy lights?

Sorry I'll miss Shane in Kinsale.  Obviously a favourite for teachers, any chance SS2 might turn up or does he camp out on the foothills of the Sperrins as a change from the big smoke?

No chance this year anyway. Wouldn't be fair to drag the missus and babogs that far. Besides, I prefer Kerry. Stayed near St Finian's bay last year. Probably a lot quieter than Kinsale, but suited me.

Don't know enough about the Sperrins but you haven't lived until you've been up the Carn, apparently. Might try that some day. It won't be easy to kill the next eight weeks with day trips, but I'll certainly try.

I'm just back from the Vendée in France. Near Saint Gilles-Croix de Vie. Absolutely briiliant time. Sun, food, wine, beach and relaxation. Lovely place as well.

Munich for oktoberfest at the end of september. It was amazing last year.

Looking to head for a week or so with the missus and the 2 weins (3yo and 1yo). No idea where to go though.
Can't go overseas as the wee one is too small, and would need an entourage. Therefore we want to stay in Ireland, or across the water. Not looking for Disney world, but something to get the wee wans happy enough.

Was thinking taking the car to Blackpool which would give us plenty of options. However we'd need to get an appartment, and would be wary of getting a dive. Anyone been to Blackpool recently....thoughts, opinions etc etc?

Norf, I brought the little lad (20 months) to France on the Ferry. It was fantastic, very handy. Rosslare to Cherbourg. We had a good drive (4.5 hours) down to Saint Gilles, but there's a good lock of places up in Normandy or Brittany as well.

The Ferry is like an extra day's holiday each way, my little lad was absolutely mad about it.

At that age then, it takes little enough to amuse them as well. Beach/Roundabouts/Carousels/Pool etc all fascinate them.

Please God, I'll repeat the dose next year or the year after, because I found it one of the least stressful holidays, travel wise, I've ever been on, even before the little man came along.

I can only wish for a week away. Had 3 days in Galway with wife and nipper (now 7mths) in may.

Heading back for the races with a few of the boys at end of July. Thats about it, rest of holidays is taken up with family weddings and odd days off. Hope to carry a few over and save the time for a good break in a few years.

Next big Holiday would be a fly-drive break on the American West coast and that region.

Yup i was in San Sebastian or Donostia as the locals call it.
I was at a wedding there about 3 years ago..Its a quite enough place to be honest but very pretty.
The beach and surrouding bay is relly something else.
Not sure it be a place for a boys weekend but the woman will love it,some grand shops and stuff for the ladies.
If you plan it right you could get to see Real Sociedad play as their stadium is in San Sebastian..
