One hospital is hardly crisis point. I know a few people working in the NHS and they all reckon there have been big improvements over the past few years. Waiting times for surgery have all been brought down to under 6 months (vast improvement), no trolley waits, general cleanliness standards are clear for anyone to see when visiting the hospitals (well Craigavon, the City and Royal), casualty waiting times down significantly in the major hospitals etc...

In that case it's unfortunate that it isn't NHS staff that are the ultimate judges of a good health service.  It's the public who decide that.  People like my father who, when they break their hip, have to spend 5 days in Altnagelvin (as Omagh no longer handle injuries requiring an orthopaedic surgeon) before eventually getting transferred across the border to Sligo General to get it sorted.

When will people learn? This stadium is not the exclusive preserve of the Unionist North East of Ireland soccer team. GAA and Rugby will also be tenants. All three sports bodies have signed up,uniquely, the Brits are supplying the cash (robbed from Ireland over the last 800 odd years), so why even involve local politicians? The GAA strategic review identified the provison of a 40k+ capacity (at least 2/3 covered and seated) as a priority for Ulster.
We either go down the ourselves alone route at substantial cost (say £50Million) or get this practically free (say 500k rent per year).

One serious question snatter-  how long would it take the GAA to pay off a stadium on 500K a year, that they would then own, and be able to make revenue off themselves with games and related entertainment (concerts etc)

So it was just unionists caused the bloodshed? Was that all a big Brit-Inspired lie that the Provos detonated bombs and shot people? If anyone wants a memorial to the conflict there are more than enough of them in cemetaries the length and bredth if Northern Ireland and beyond.
