Can Mayo people cope with another final?
A sure cure for seasickness is to sit under a tree

Quote from: SouthOfThe Bann on July 06, 2026, 12:17:10 PMCan see a repeat of the Donegal v Meath Semi this weekend.

Louth will be coming into this game full of hope but I can't see them being able to cope with Mayo's forwards.

Mayo by 10-12.

I called this result few days ago and yous laughed at me.
Yep I did in fairness. Great shout, Louth just never showed up

Basically a training game this half. Good for Mayo like but whoever comes out of tomorrow will be way, way more battle hardened.

And if it's Kerry as most assume, then by Jesus that is some step up in challenge compared to what they've faced to date

Quote from: ClubScene13 on July 11, 2026, 07:26:24 PMWell done Mayo. They have got to an All-Ireland final without beating a division 1 team, has to be a first?

I wish them well for 2 weeks time but if it's Kerry I have PTSD from those finals 20 years ago

Is the criteria 2027 Division 1 teams? They beat Monaghan who were Division 1 this year

Granted that is as favourable a quarter/semi route as you'll get at this stage

Only remembered that seconds after posting that it was that long ago. Hopefully these younger players will be able to perform in 2 weeks given they won't have the baggage of the old guard, I definitely would want them to win it now

Quote from: TyroneTam on July 11, 2026, 07:27:59 PMFair play to Mayo but they'll get a rude awakening in the final when they play a decent team. Has a team ever had such a handy run to a final?
Dublin 2020? Other than that struggling to remember too many since pre qualifier days.

Andy Moran on Kobe before the League

"He has his Leaving Cert coming up and you want to let him enjoy himself without putting too much of an emphasis on the whole structure because the talent is there, no doubt about it, he's a phenomenal talent.

"I think you just have to try and let him enjoy it as much as he can and whatever benefit then comes for Mayo all the better."

Hopefully Mayo put up an even bigger performance come the final
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

I thought that  said Aldo

Can see Moran and Aidan O Shea  arguing with  the fourth official because he won't let him on. Then O Shea calling him a dickhead  ;D

Anyway, back to reality......

The stars are very unlikely to align like this again for Mayo in the final. I hope they make a game of it and don't have another choke. They did well against a very lacklustre opponent today but unless the fates stay with them and absolutely everything goes their way in the final, I can't see them doing it. They will be roundly written off though, and that'll help them.

16 points up and Louth are lucky it's not a hell of alot worse tbh. Biggest case of a team laying an egg on the big stage, as I've seen in a long time.

I expected Mayo to win but I didn't think Louth would falter this badly given the scalps they've taken this year and the confidence they'd built up. Can't fathom how they just didn't show up at all for the 2nd half

If its Kerry i dont see Mayo breaking 50 50 at midfield. Am sure either Kerry or Dublin would put a man marker on McDonald

DaleCooper

Had same thought. OShea should get a run now as its unlikely he will be relied upon in final under the cosh
