When Kerry badly needed a few scores on Saturday, they got the ball to Clifford and he done the exact same thing 2 times in a row and got a fisted point each time. He can be relatively quiet but then sparks into life when Kerry need him most.

As a neutral - I didn't want either Dublin or Galway to win. But at a push - I wanted Galway to lose.

With that in mind - how in the F*ck did David Gough get a Dublin game?
The lad lives and works in Dublin. He gave all the tight calls to Dublin.
There is no doubt about that.

Loving the rage baiting you have for Dublin. Gough lives in Slane and works in school in Inchicore, an area which would have no GAA tradition.

We have all seen pictures of David Gough standing beside Dublin players at his school on visits with the Sam Maguire. It's a compromising position refereeing a Dublin match.
There will always be subliminal decisions. I was as close to Neutral as I have ever been watching yesterday's game. Gough definitely gave Dublin the run of Green.

Whether he did or not, there is simply no need for the GAA to appoint him to Dublin games and have people suggesting that he might be biased.

The GAA had a referee doing a game last week in which his clubman was playing. They don't seem to put any thought into it.

You'd think there should be an unwritten custom that if teams from 2 Provinces are playing each other the Ref would be from one of the other 2 Provinces.

It beggars belief that people are criticising that performance. The team showed amazing determination, grit and skill. We were a hair's breadth in that match against a fantastic Kerry team, the best in the country, probably by a distance and has serious pedigree. Given where the team was when MOR took over, it's laughable to say there's been no progress, especially with such a young inexperienced team.

We were without the Canavans and yet if it weren't for multiple clear errors by the officials, and other debateable ones, the odds are we could have been in a semi final and well on the way to our fifth Sam Maguire. I thought the match was fantastic and the ref was good up until the closing stages, but disappointing that the officials made such clear errors and having such a bearing on the flow and outcome in the final minutes.

the only time I can remember him being injured in 9 championship seasons so far is the ET against Tyrone in 2021.

It does seem that way with the Canavans. Ruairi hasn't done it yet in a senior jersey so not sure I would count him as a key absentee on Saturday. Not having Darragh was a blow though.

The two Canavans do seem very injury-prone - Darragh in particular seems to have had a laundry list of aliments. Given how many different injuries he's had at his relatively young age, you wonder how long his body will hold together. Dad didn't exactly have the greatest luck in terms of injuries when he was playing so I could definitely see some of it being down to genetics.

I'd say every team will get some sort of luck in a game but the winning teams will be the ones who are better at taking advantage of it.
