Wouldn't have seen these scenes if Down had won it. Delighted for Wicklow.

Quote from: From the Bunker on July 11, 2026, 05:16:28 PMA good day for the Tailteann Cup and a Great day for Wicklow football.

I'd say it was a pretty great day for the Tailteann Cup in the end - especially as things were looking a bit bleak at half-time. Wicklow the first Division 4 county to win it - surely the football folk in a lot of the other Division 4 counties will be taking encouragement from that.

Massive blow to Down and I'd say any talk of being too good for the Tailteann Cup/deserving to be playing Sam Maguire will go vey quiet for a good while. A long way from the highs of beating Donegal.

Imagine looking at that  weasel in the  winning photograph  for years to come
If Charlie Haughey can win the Tour de France Harris is entitled to win the Tailteann  ;D

Bad call putting him on tbh.

Hes too big and slow, the goal finish was poor too.

Down had handy goals and Wicklow peno miss. The right result overall.
He's one of the quickest players in the country at full speed. But yeah wouldn't have had him on as early

Wicklow in the All-Ireland nxt year. Down joint Derry on the folders table after having lost massive leada.

Dont want to detract from Wicklow's amazing win in any way but watching the game I remarked I bet Down were much fitter/sharper for Down & Armagh and I'd be 99% sure they were, tried to win the Tailteann in 3rd gear. Wicklow were in peak shape I'd say. Down are fannies tho.

Laverty not look at his screensaver at half-time?

Cunny Funt

The decision making by Down in that 2nd half  was awful and had the look of side that thought they would still win regardless of the Wicklow comeback.

Day belongs to Wicklow another big 2nd half performance from them and it's what the Tailteann Cup needed with a Division 4 team winning the cup.

Milltown Row2

The jackal and Hyde of Down! Fair play Wicklow, Antrim had them bate until another second half comeback won it in Corrigan park.

Died with their boots on, Down forgot to take them out for the second half!

Money well spent with downs 4 men on the line... north of £100k to serve up that tripe.

Wonder what McConville said in that S. Ama drawl at half-time? He needs to get credit where it's due.

Going by O'Tooles interview not a lot and no shouting or roaring. Says they knew they needed to fix scoring accuracy and stop letting Down get their own kickouts so easily

He has Frankie Dolan as one of his back room crew.
