twohands!!!

Cavan 0-6 Louth 1-16 HT

Cavan did manage to get into the game a bit more but struggling to get much of a reward on the scoreboard.
Got on more ball, created more chances but shooting was poor between wides and dropped into the Louth keepers hands

Louth wasn't as impressive as the first 15 minutes but still were very very good. Got a great goal with three long kick passes the length of the field. They got 4 2 pointers in the half but some of the marking by Cavan for these was criminal.

Loving the high up television angle from behing the posts, especially for the kickouts.
Really give good views for the kickouts.
Would love to see it in more grounds.

A long long way back for Cavan if they hope to get anything in the second half.

Yeah he had a huge half -the two pointer he kicked after being on the ground was as good a score as you'd see anywhere. [Even if the marking was just tragic]

Can see how Louth beat Tyrone, there a big improvement in them from even last yrs Leinster win. But Cavan are Tragic, they be going down with Offaly.

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

twohands!!!

This looks close to a repeat of the Tyrone game for Cavan where players looked like they were going through the motions just waiting for the final whistle.

Tis sad bad stuff from Cavan.

Louth surely have major regrets about the Meath result because that and the Cork game made promotion a long shot.

Tyrone doing a good impression of a Division 3 side

I actually  thought Cavan would win this. Louth have been impressive, but Cavan have  been awful.

FT Cavan 1-12 Louth 1-22. Any consolation on Cavan winning the 2nd half  1-6 to 0-6? Probably not.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

That's another atrocious stain on Cavan football, the stink of which will be hard removed. Bleak times ahead. McCabe has some job of work ahead of him, and what's really worrying is that if he can't even coach basics like tight marking and playing to the final whistle with a semblance of pride, fight and a bit of heart, then he won't be up to it, and in a few years Cavan will still be drifting and casting around for the latest magic manager to "get us back where we belong", which is the massive pile of self-soothing shite we've been feeding ourselves for generations.

Every time I've seen Cavan this year there have been gaps the size of canyons all over the defence despite some very seasoned operators in there like Brady from Arva, Gerry Smith, Jason McLoughlin etc., and yet from game to game it never improved in the slightest, so what in the hell is McCabe and his backroom team (no doubt "highly rated" and assembled at some cost) seeing on the field and doing in training?

Wildweasel74

Yeah but wheres player responsibility? The basis for a defender is to mark tight, midfield/ forwards work up and down the field, and most of all you gonna try to compete to the end. even if the games gone.

Much better from Tyrone in second half. Mattie and Dazzler still class acts.

Result Tyrone 0-28 Offaly 2-13.

Half-time Kildare 0-5 Meath 1-9

Kildare poor. 3 scores in a half. Meath could have been more ruthless but lads being a bit reluctant against the wind. Hope we don't throw it away like we did against Louth.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Blowitupref

All too easy for Meath, zero kick in Kildare playing at home against their neighbours. Kildare 0-10 Meath 1-21.

Offaly are more or less gone, and although Cavan's pitifully weak mentality means they'll be hugely uncomfortable as favourites/playing under expectation with something big at stake, we should beat them, although nobody would be surprised if we dropped a bollock, let's be honest. That would leave Kildare needing a win either away to Cork or home to Louth to stay up, and send Cavan down. You can immediately write off the possibility of us doing anything against Derry in our final game, save bowing down meekly and rolling over for a beating. It might be better for us if we did go down? A few more older heads will leave after this season so another Division 2 campaign next year wouldn't be much more fun than this one, and ritual humiliations in the Sam Maguire championship won't do anyone any good either.
