An inconsistent league campaign but 4th spot was probably around where you would expect us to be. The team got plenty of stick after the Wexford loss (from myself included) but in fairness Wexford winning promotion was not something I saw coming.

Onwards and upwards, even though it was a dead rubber match hopefully beating Down in their own backyard will give our lads a timely boost before championship kicks off.

Three derbies next year with Offaly and Kildare being relegated and Carlow promoted.

County Man

An encouraging league campaign for Laois. Some really good performances and even with 3 defeats, 2 of them were by only 2 and 3 points with 14 men for the second half of both these matches.

Hopefully next year we can have a real promotion push and try to emulate Wexford's achievement this year. No less than 6 Leinster teams involved next year in division 3.

We now have the potential to have a real go at Offaly in the Leinster championship. It should be a cracker.

Brilliant win tonight. Offaly couldn't live with the aggression and pace in our middle third.

Our full back line was excellent.

Great win yesterday against a poor Offaly team we have a chance next week against Kildare but are up against it especially in Newbridge hurlers have a difficult one against Carlow Saturday

Came on here expecting 2-3 pages of discussion about the match. Just 2-3 comments to be found. Is interest at an all time low or would it be busier if we were bet out the gate?

Was listening on Midlands 103, sounded like Laois were by far the better team and the margin of victory would have been much greater only for some good saves by the Offaly keeper.

I know some are saying Offaly were very poor but you can only beat what's in front of you. They will not fear Kildare.

County Man

Convincing win against Offaly in front of a decent crowd. 3-11 out of the 3-12 total was from play. Laois did the damage early with the 2 goals but in truth, Offaly were dismal on the day with huge gaps in defence.

Credit has to go to our organisation though with a clear plan in place, played with plenty of purpose. Forwards such as Evan O'Carroll, Ronan Coffey and Paul Kingston were very sharp.

Jack Lacey and Alex Mohan had strong displays in defence. A negative point was going 20 minutes without scoring in the second half. That can't happen against Kildare if we are to win.

Newbridge should be a good occasion and we can have a right cut at them. We'll have to be on it right through the game but there should be no fear, the pressure will all be on Kildare on their home patch.

The midfield battle could be pivotal. As a team, I'm sure the lads will leave everything on the pitch and hopefully we can bring a good support like what was in Tullamore.

Great win against Offaly and huge to actually get a win in Tullamore. It has been our burial ground more often than not.
Kildare will be a step up though however you'd hope our lads have a bit of confidence going up there but also knowing that there's much to improve on.

Has the makings of a good oul tussle.

Offaly not at the races at all. Nice to beat them but you'd get a lot more satisfaction from beating a good Offaly team in a right ding-dong battle rather than the team we defeated on Saturday. Was like kicking a dog when it is down. You can only beat what's put in front of you I guess.

The victory over Down definitely instilled confidence in Laois going into the game and it showed in how we started the match on Saturday. Earned a free hit at Kildare who wobbled badly in the league and struggled to break down defences. Playing away might actually suit Laois more-with twenty to go and Laois in it they might suffer from the added pressure of the home support getting edgy and not meeting the expectations of a comfortable home victory.

I was confident of beating Offaly and looking at Kildare in the league it is hard to see how they would turn things around so much in a short space of time. Think we wont be too far away. My big worry of Laois this year has been around the middle. In league games that we lost, it was very much our achilles heel. If we can match up with Kildare around the middle third I expect there to be only a kick or two of the ball separating the teams come the end. With Laois having momentum and victories in their last two competitive games under their belts, I'm hoping we come out on the right side of the result.

That comment is very offensive to the many genuine Laois supporters on this forum who faithfully followed Laos teams down the years. In the main the posts on this forum are insightful and the posters have Laois's interests at heart.

I wasn't able to make the game last Saturday but listened to Midlands Radio 3 commentary. What a heartwarming result.

Fuuck um. They never shied away from handing down a kicking when the chance came and neither should we. Thats the nature of the beast. Lovely to see Swayne and Fingleton give it the big licks after goaling on Saturday, as it should be. Sew it in.

Some great lads kicking with Laois nowadays, young and born leaders. Follow them.
