In fairness that's hardly a surprise. If they were fans of the game, they'd have heard about liverpool, but in the world of sports ownership, Manchester United are at the top of the lists along with the Cowboys and NY Yankees. I'd be shocked if sports owners in the states hadn't heard of Man U.

So 3 match ban for the white Pele dickhead . . . will Fabio even take him at all? Still it's good news for Utd I guess  ::) ::) ::)

Carmen Stateside

Tough sentence i thought, no?
Probably appeal and get it down til two games, he will be the hero in the deciding group game.

A kick in the GAA is 3 months I think. 3 Games would seem fairly lenient in my opinion!

laoislad

Plenty of whore houses for him to visit in Poland while the group stages are on..

any truth that rooney senior was laying rooney at 25/1 to be top goalscorer in the euros?

Rooney born to greatness as a Scouser but fell to shame and became a Manc.
Time to take a more chill-pill approach to life.

You got to love the hypocrisy of the fact that the FA will appeal Rooneys three match ban, them that thought it was ok to give him a two match ban for swearing...

Not that I think there will be much sympathy for him going around I think Rooneys punishment is a little harsh for what was a petulant act rather than anything seriously malicious. Having been injured/out of form in the last two major competitions it looks as if another maybe pass him by.

I also disagree with any United fan that thinks it'll help United in any way, the fella desperately wants to play for England and could cut a more isolated forlorn figure as the season goes on. He's definitely best playing with a smile on his face :)

Rooney being banned from internationals only helps Utd if the matches are in the middle of the season. Avoids possible injuries. I know he could still get injured at the Euros but more recovery time after. I agree it would be better for him to play. He has been done for assult which is a bit harsh when you see it but very stupid. He must be the only player on the squad that could still be included in even though he will miss 3 games..

God knows how this will effect him on Saturday. He could throw another wobbler or he could have a stormer of a game. Looking forward to seeing what happens.

Couldn't give a shite about Rooneys ban. It'll be better for united this season anyway that he'll miss those games.

What bloody difference would it make to united this season as the games dont take place till after the season.
You would want to start thinking with your brain and not the hole between the cheeks of your buttocks.

Well do you think Capello is going to start him (or even play him) in meaningless friendlies (8 I think) knowing he has to find someone to fill his boots at the Euros?

Fergie must be delighted  :P

BennyCake

Well arsehole, Capello will probably play new formations in friendly games leading up to the tournament. And as Rooney will miss 3 games there (maybe the only 3 games they'll get), Rooney will probably not feature in those friendlies. Meaning less chance of injury, he'll be rested etc, meaning he'll be fresher for the run-in for United.

See what I'm getting at, ye madman?!
