Arsen stayed the pace... these young managers struggle nowadays

Arséne won his first title with 78 points. He would have finished 4th in this years League.

Could quite easily see Pep leaving as well.

Fergie won a league with 75 points in 1996–97. Newcastle were 2nd with 68.  ;D

Nah, you win the League you win the League. But you have to admit it has turned into zero room for error.

Fair dues to Ciry they have opened the purse strings and upped the anti. It's up to the rest to catch up or be left behind, even if it is by 2 points.  ;D

Ole Gunnar Solskjær was their top scorer on 18.

Did Man United make it into any of the European places?
Do they get the Europa League because they are in FA Cup Final?

It's hard to know. Probably have. Arsenal and Liverpool also finished on 68 (in '96/97)

Think they're out unless they win the FA Cup.

Who got Liverpool's League Cup European place?

Who get the Conference League Place?

Nope and hopefully they haven't the distraction of Europe either as they won't be able to use Thursday night football as an excuse that some clubs did this year..

Gotta win it so again, no European football

I'd imagine if a team outside the top 7 won the league cup they would take the conference league place. ATM Newcastle are in Conference league. If United win the FA cup they take chelseas Europa league spot, chelsea drop into conference league and newcastle don't get any European place

United would be better off out of Europe . Better to bring in  a  new manager  and a number of   new players and start the rebuilding.

If that means  bringing in "lesser" players  because of the lack of European football ,  then  so be it. United have enough  big time Charlie signings  on mental wages as it is.

Hopefully United can upset the odds and pull off the shock of the year vs City. Squad is too thin for Europa next year though.

We see it with most sports even in GAA now with group formats or leagues. The less points gained to top the table the more competitive that competition has been.  Arsenal much improved from the side Arteta managed in his first few seasons but the current Arsenal team in talent and overall quality wouldn't be as good as that Arsenal team in 1997/98 with players such as Seaman,Dixon,Adams,Vieria,Bergkamp.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose
