Home heating oil prices has gone out of control. Looks like I'll have to invest in a few hot water bottles and hope this current surge blows over
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

See what happens first - you run out of oil or US/Israel run out of missiles  ;D

same thing happened when Russia invaded Ukraine in early 2022, a lot of people panic bought at the time but after a while the prices came down. thankfully we are coming into spring time so shouldn't need the heating on as much soon anyway.

Exactly what has happened.. Don't think I seen as many oil tankers out doing deliveries today than I ever have. People complain about the companies but supply and demand, lots of panic buying.

Like when people were going mad buying toilet roll at the start of COVID lockdown

I  think it's probably more   a case of people buying oil now rather than risk waiting for it to go to astronomical prices in a couple of weeks

Better paying a couple hundred more  now, than 600 or 700  more later on

Feck knows how long  this  shite will go on for

I wouldn't call it panic buying. The medium term price is only going one way.

Yes people tend to show how stupid they are when in panic mode.

£1.25/L in some places! Mental stuff.

More worryingly I have no summer holiday booked yet and if the airlines start putting the arm in due to aviation fuel price rises I might not bother this year or just wait until nearer the time and see what way things are.

Yeah me too lol! Either that or a new boiler

Unfortunately for me this would require a new set of bathroom and ensuite ffs! Working till I die!

I'm not sure if this is actually going to be realised as the price review was carried out before the Don took action in Iran.

Wish nothing but bad luck on the price gougers!

The government should be reducing duty/vat on fuel in the short term ffs.

trueblue1234

Oil down 4p pl this morning apparently. Hopefully see more of that once the panic buying drops a bit more.

Why? Where would you make up the difference?
