What other options were there to going from 12 to 16, especially as league and championship were to be decoupled?
I get your point but to a certain extent getting to a semi final can be down to luck of the draw. Could have been 2 finalists and next best from the league. In a restructure you can do whatever you want.
Unless it is two down then some teams may not find their level in championship for a while.
14 teams seems competitive for senior but a structure might be hard from that without a league or group and they seem unpopular.

zapped

Personally I feel the best option is 3 evenly split leagues and championships. 13-12-12 would be my preference for both.

A top heavy (16-12-9) SFC means we have our 17th and 29th teams playing Ulster IFC & JFC, whereas in the 13-12-12 structure we'd have our 14th and 26th teams competing increasing our chances of Ulster success at that level. The current structure won't help that.

We probably have too many clubs who want to call themselves a Senior club (through league or championship) and a small cohort of clubs in Junior who know if it (league or championship) got any bigger they wouldn't stand a chance. Can't see either changing any time soon. But this is what was voted for so we move on!

Seriously?
Tally should be given a chance, as much as I think he totally messed up the GK choices, the team was decimated by injuries and I dont think anyone would have done much better.
From what I'd heard planning for next year had already started so its strange if this has happened.

Conleth Gilligan? Can't return for Rory g at this stage surely

Let's hope they've somebody lined up, otherwise this is just another shitshow in the making.

They have to have someone lined up surely......

Stickittotheman

After the complete debacle of the last few years surely they have someone lined up. I was told by someone I trust that they do. He said that there has been movement in the last few days which has prompted the decision to remove Tally.

Interstellar

If the players have had their say, and assuming RG is too hot to handle then if he has had a change of mindset then Ciaran Meenagh.
