Not seeing this, Slaughtneil haven't made a final since 2022 and I dont think their younger players match what the younger Newbridge or Magherafelt players have to offer.

Similar to Glen a number of their older players are coming to the end of the road, appreciate they want one last dance but the new game makes it even harder on older legs.

An all Ireland winning manager will improve things now doubt but given the age profile of Newbridge and Magherafelt I expect both of those teams to be even better this year. And to be fair both have very strong management teams as well.

A bridge too far for Slaughtneil in the football is my view.

Why?

Football heads are stupid. Hurling will bring then young lads on something shocking. A different set of skills but ties into football.


Look at the amount of duel clubs who are going well and it's only helping them.

could not disagree more with this, the level of laziness that hurling brings to youth football is unbearable.
It might bring slightly more short distance speed but absolutely no endurance running.
