Westmeath will give the Dubs a much better game with their attacking strength, loads of heart and team unity, and wont get Lilly whitewashed like the flourbags or the downward spiral that is Meath Football.

Great day for Westmeath, was 2004 last time in the final?

Westmeath beat Dublin on the way to winning the Leinster title in 2004, now the bookies think they'll lose by 16 points in a provincial final. What has happened between 2004 and now that has made such a difference I wonder??????

What was wrong with the breeding a decade ago? Maybe it was the influx of culchies and foreigners so you didn't have to inbreed like before?

It was. It was also our last win in Croke park previous to the Eastmeath game.

I hope I'm wrong and we get a good game but I think the semi-final might have given Westmeath a false sense of their own worth. They were decimated in the first half and a more proficient team like Dublin will punish them severely. Dublin have enough supplementary talent on the bench that they won't be significantly effected by a few black cards. Dublin by 16 or more I would imagine. Still hope I'm wrong.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Heard there was a massive brawl in the first minute of the Dublin V Armagh challenge game during the week. Started in first minute and went on for quite a bit. Ref left them sort it out and then restarted the game. One Dublin player had his nose broke and eye socket fractured.

Started before the game, by Armagh, geezer obviously spends too much time involved in that ufc stuff, playing Armagh in a challenge was silly anyways, a dire team, nothing learnt

Have lived in Westmeath for a god few years and have been involved in a couple of clubs.
They do a huge amount of things right (take Leinster schools football ...... 24 clubs take part in the A-championship - 6 from Dublin but 5 from Westmeath and no other county with more than 2) and imo it has been a confidence thing, historical baggage, etc etc that means the average Westmeath person has a negative outlook on all things football..... when they got promoted to Div 1 it was a case of we'll be down again next year. Same at the start of this year.
Beating Meath has done wonders to address this and the Dublin result won't actually change that a huge amount.
