When I watch Youtube with the Firefox browser there is a download option (but it disappears on internet Explorer).

The Firefox download option is much better than keepvid.

I used this programme http://download.cnet.com/Any-Video-Converter-Freeware/3000-2194_4-10661456.html
previously and it worked ok(it is free)

Its freeware, just remember to de-select the add-ons when you are installing the software.
