These Ranger fans, tut tut

Parliamentary speak for "so what" is what?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

He is in with a great chance of taking Willie Frazer's title of Village Idiot, mind you wee Sammy is in with a shout also.

Must be the most petty excuse ever not to engage and that's saying something.

Hold on.

The UUP, Alliance and the SDLP are the PARTNERS IN GOVERNMENT of Sinn Fein and the DUP.

The 'so what' wasn't in relation to the sacking of a nurse or the putting up of a few flegs by Sammy, it was about a hugely important policy announcement which is going to cost the taxpayer half a BILLION quid!

Saying 'so what' might only be a phrase that people use day to day, but it betrays a huge lack of respect in the Executive and is certainly something SF should distance itself from.  After all, 50% of the population voted for the other parties.  Show a lack of respect for their elected representatives and you show a lack of respect to the people too.

T Fearon

Yes.But if unionists could devise a system (which thankfully they can't) which would exclude Sinn Fein from the Executive altogether they would.Give Respect Get Respect.

Tonto

You do realise that SFs senior partner in government are a unionist party?

And anyway, it showed a lack of respect for the SDLP and Alliance too.

T Fearon

They are hardly willing partners.Anyway political parties showing disrespect for rivals, that's a novelty ::)

Tonto

At election time, yes rivals.  In government, supposed partners.

SF and the DUP are not the only parties in government.  Making key policy decisions without the other governing parties is undemocratic and does little for relations within the Executive.

Tonto, have unionist parties ever shown any respect to minority parties?Mike Nesbitt is a complete  and utter clown. Suck it up as they say.

Tonto

So this is the shared future.  Sign me up.

Can't be bothered with this argument.  If you don't have the mental faculties to comprehend why other parties feel sidelined by the DUP and SF in the apparently power-sharing executive, then there is no point in debate.

Jim Allister is the only one pleased with what O'Dowd said I would think.

JUst retired

Jim Allister ,who I dont agree with is honest if nothing else. Can the rest say that?
