Ok its currently 2-6 to 0-3 to Meath.

In other Meath related news From Setanta Sports:

Meath's Ollie Murphy has announced that he has retired from intercounty football.

The veteran forward, who plays for the Carnacross club, won an All-Ireland medal with the Royals in 1999, scoring the decisive goal in that year's All Ireland final.

He also won an All-Ireland medal with Meath in 1996 and won three Leinster senior medals throughout a fine career.

Murphy was twice named an All-Star but has struggled with injuries in recent years.

Meath 4-12
Waterford 1-6

With a winning margin of 15 that puts Meath temporarily on top of 2B.
Division 2B looks like this for now till tomorrows games but todays game gives us a bit of breathing space on points difference. a scoring record of 13-68 pretty good going, Conceeding 5-60 is little above average accross the league.

Hardy

Sad to see the end of Ollie. He was one of those rare players that could cause a buzz in the crowd when he got the ball. At the height of his powers, it got to the stage when you could be almost certain that Ollie would intervene with some impossible piece of drama to save the day when all seemed lost. That's why we almost knew the day was lost when he went off against Galway in 2001. Where would the magic come from now?

He was the best conductor of the Dublin fans I ever saw. The mood, volume and even tone of the sound from the Hill varied in tune with whatever Ollie did. His best trick of all was to make it completely flat and silent with one lethal incision. It always seemed like magic to me. I think they had a certain regard for him too.

Despite two All-Irelands and three Leinsters, his career seems unfulfilled, given the outrageous talent he had. He was unlucky with injuries and also unlucky to be inexplicably dropped for the 98 campaign, after a glittering introduction in 97. If he'd been a first choice that year, it might have had a different outcome.

A great thing about Ollie was that he wore his talent lightly and with a smile on his face. None of the po-faced seriousness and professionalism about him – he always seemed to understand that the whole thing was about enjoying yourself and always seemed to be saying to himself "isn't this great crack!".

Great memories and at least, unlike those of so many others, most of them are on video.
