Tiernan McCormack looked sharp for Antrim yesterday and notched 2 scores in the second half  has he only been fit as of recent or why only selected now ?

belfastsaff

He sure was impressive, as was niall burns and Healy.

In Div 1 looks like MG and Whitehill are going to struggle - they are division 2 teams who have got lucky with the league re structures as have other teams like St Pauls and the paddies etc..

Healy some addition great to see him back , top drawer !

Definitely think the three will struggle how many go down from the league this year ?

Spike

you would think they need to pick picking up cheap points at the start of the league.  cant see it getting any easier once the better clubs have men back from county and fitness levels improved.

Fair play, two more league points yesterday, and a few more players blended into the system.

Hopefully use the 4IAR to build momentum to be as competitive against Derry as we were against Armagh for 40 mins in last years cship.

The Tailteean Cup is our level and thats how the season will be judged. Antrim supporters are most realistic, we just want to get basics right and petform close to our potential. No one is expecting trophys anytime soon but this time next year a division 4 final and promotion is a must.

did you catch the PG1 LD game BS?

bannside

Was one of 4 games I got to yesterday lol. A proper days football!

I was confident going up the road tbh but LD bossed the contest for the majority of the game and went 9 up midway through the second half.

Our comeback was spectacular tbh, a winning 2 pointer in the closing seconds to snatch the points, but truth is we got out of jail.

LD looking very fit and competitive, a few new faces not doing them any harm, and big Pearse, Decy and Murray brothers still pulling it out.

Cracking contest, the only time Casements got ahead was ten seconds before the end!

Attended Moneyglass v Kickhams game and left at half time. Hard to know where moneyglass are with so many new faces however they still have  strong spine. Creggan looked very impressive. Hungry and well drilled.

Then nipped down to Toome saw the 2nd part of TNN and Cargin. I could name about 3 Cargin players, similar to TNN. Was poor quality from both, however interesting to see with both the games, all 4 teams seemed to have alot of youth on display.

Is that purely due to unavailability of utilising the new rules with more energy through younger lads?

If not the begrudging know it alls will be plundering the place with doom and gloom posts about someone's dad from a club that wears a Fiburs top and his granny knows a milkman that's best friend was on the committee of Antrim back in the day..

Anyways, ya get the point..

Good luck Lads
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Attended the game last night. From the journey down, the weather and im sure players felt the heavy pitch, it was grim. Neither side possessed much quality in all honesty, a few individuals that could make solid squad players in next year or two, but we have nothing to be writing home about. Id put my house on Fermanagh getting a good hammering whoever they meet in the next round, so maybe spared us the blushes.

u20 is group system, we have Donegal, Derry and Monaghan still to come. Fermanagh already played Donegal , losing by 2 points.

There's a really nice feature on the new Antrim website where you can go through results as far back as 2013 - for those interested.

Thanks for that. I went down to watch the wifes nephew who never got a minute, so was a waste of an evening. Last game i was at was straight knockout and wasnt aware it was groups. Seems like a real tough group they have, however great experience playing teams of that calibre if you can remain competitive.

I probably had an unrealistic expectation of that group, as they have a sprinkling of quality players

Big day for St Louis Ballymena, contesting a grade A colleges final at 12 noon today in Castledawson. Paddy McAleer is their coach.

Their opponents are St Josephs Donaghmore, ironically managed by Casements coach Niall Kelly, who went to.....St Louis!

Most clubs round here have got a few players involved. Best of luck.
