Who can increase their speeds and times heading towards the end of their athletics careers to rreach elite levels.

Oh, I dunno.

Maybe someone who won the first of his 5 English Schoolboy Championships when he was 14?

Or maybe someone whose record as a Junior/early-mid 20's athlete included the following?

2005 - European Indoor Athletics Championships 3,000 m: Sixth

2006 - European Cross Country Championships: Gold Medal

2006 -  European Championships in Athletics 5,000 m: Silver medal
 
2007 -  World Championships in Athletics 5,000 m: Sixth

2009 -  European Indoor Athletics Championships 3,000 m: Gold medal

2009 -  World Championships in Athletics 5,000 m: Seventh

2010 -  European Athletics Championships 10,000 m: Gold medal

2010  - European Athletics Championships 5,000 m: Gold medal

Or maybe someone who got married at 27 and settled down to start a family, before finding a new Coach and taking his already excellent career to a higher level (10,000 m Silver and 5,000 m Gold Medals in the 2011 World Championships)?

The facts are these. He showed outstanding promise as a schoolboy and Junior athlete. He occasionally showed signs of fulfilling that promise when he entered senior athletics, but never made it to the very top, partly due to the emergence of a generation of East Africans who took the sport to a new level and partly due to a lack of complete dedication to his career. He finally matured, got his act together, and at 28 started achieving what had long been predicted for him.

Now, as he looks forward to  the next phase in his career, expert observers are predicting he can become a top Marathon runner...

The Brits can. f**k off cheats.

... and the rest of us may look forward to small-minded bigots making all sorts of accusations which run contrary to all the evidence before them...
