Breandán Mac Cionnaith was saying outside the court today that there might be another legal avenue that could be tried. He hinted at something else but didn't go any further.

Didn't seem it was a GR residents based approach. Seemed to hint at some other avenue.

Anybody know what that would be about?

No need for the equestrian jokes; plenty of legitimate criticisms of Lockhart are available.

She's probably trying to pull a Trimble. Make a name for herself at Drumcree and spend the accrued political capital going for party leadership.

The events of the last week have proven that the PC's ruling that there'd be "no disorder" if the parade went ahead is a load of nonsense. I'd be very surprised if any court upheld it.

Plus the application has expired and the jaffas will have to resubmit.

Some of the backwoodsmen in Portadown have been fantasising about the fenians being forcibly removed and violently arrested to facilitate the parade, but there doesn't seem to be enough appetite in the PSNI for the chaos that would flow from that. Seems like they've learned their lesson from the 1990s. They can dream about water cannon, plastic bullets, and live ammunition all they want. It's not going to happen.

As for the sanctimonious unionists hoping to see MON prosecuted for blocking the road, I couldn't see that going far. The ECHR is still in effect, Brexit or no Brexit, and it upholds the right to hold a spontaneous protest.

Bryson's about to realise that his mouth has been writing cheques that his brain can't cash. I'd love to say this will be the end of him and he's on his way back to political obscurity, but I suspect he's a bit of an unflushable. He'll probably have a crack at stirring the sh1t at some other flashpoint like the Lower Ormeau Rd.

I think even the OO are  hoping the courts cancel this. Because the SoS and PSNI won't  be .

The PSNI have done irreparable damage to themselves and  made their own job nearly  impossible going forward.

The only  way out for them is to jail  all the nationalist politicians who stood on the Garvaghy Road.  I doubt that will happen  though.

The court cases and appeals are a distraction. This all boils down to whether the Orange order can force a march through a Nationalist area. That day has gone and any manipulation of the legal/policing/political systems to allow it only go to show the sectarian bias built into this corrupt state.
Never underestimate the power of complaining
