Strange that so many of his peers have been caught, Basso, Ulrich, Vinoukerov, Rasmussen, Landis etc but Lil Lance was the only clean cyclist in the village. I suppose everyone can make their own mind up.

And he is the most obvious cheat of all. A time trial cyclist who mastered the mountains after coming back from cancer. I mean get real people.

He will remain innocent until proven guilty which will probably never happen now unless he is stupid enough to keep riding and taking "the juice".

Now I'm sure I can speak for the rest of the Pro-Lancers here and say we'll hold our hands
up if and when he's caught with something out of the norm in his system,
until then.................. c'mon Lance ;D
But going off the logic here...the rest that have been caught are simply stupid and Lance
is somehow smarter at staying undetected right under their noses...is that it ???

Yep, had a better chemist, and perhaps the cancer treatment gave him some leeway which he promptly took advantage of.

The most telling thing for me was an article I read which told how the authorities recently developed new, better drug tests. They still have samples of Lances blood from the tour wins, but cant perform tests on them without his permission, due to whatever rules. They offered to test them again with the new tests, with his permission, to put all the rumours to bed, but guess what, Lance refused...

To be honest beating the cancer he had was a more unlikely achievement than anything else he has done in the rest of his life. For that reason alone (and I have others) I'm sticking by Lance. He finished 3rd last year at 38 years of age after over 3 years out.

The point about all his peers getting caught and him not getting caught means there are 2 explanations. The one put forward above, that he had a better chemist than all the others, seems far-fetched to me. One genius chemist in the world that only Lance had access to? The only other explanation is that he is clean which is far-fetched to a lot of people. Given his history of achieving what was thought practically humanly impossible I side with the latter explantion, until proved otherwise.

Wasnt there discussion on here about lance a while back, and plenty of people of the opinion that he was clean?

This does not prove him guilty of anything, you have a habitual liar who waited until the statute of limitations was up before deciding he wanted to be part of the solution.

I will believe he cheated when they prove he cheated, to this day that has never happened, it might and if they do and it is definitively proven he cheated I will accept it, he might well have but then again he might not have and so far the evidence points to him being clean.
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

 ???

Only the first sentence of that is my quote stew; I've always thought lance is on drugs. Whaddya playin at?

I think the cancer was key to him being able to get away with it, whether by being allowed to take some substances ostensibly linked to the cancer, or if drugs taken for the cancer had the effect of masking performance enhancing drugs.

But he hasn't had cancer for a long time. Are you saying treatment for cancer could mask drugs 5 plus years down the line?
It allowed him to re-build his body in a certain way for sure.

Whatever about the latest allegations, it just defied belief for me to accept that someone could be so dominant in such a drug-addled sport, yet be clean himself. He's as dirty as the rest of them.

As a treatment for Cancer you get steroids to build yourself up again, during this period (about 2 years) Lance wasnt allowed to be tested for banned substances.

FFS he might never be proven if he retires soon but all the indications are that he was doping and getting away with it.
Why wont he allow the previous blood samples to be retested with the new procedures?

Didnt Landis describe how Armstrong thought him how to hide steriod use through blood transfusions!?
As well as that, the cancer treatment he was getting prevented him from being tested.
All of Lances team in 1999 have been linked to doping through books, admittance and interviews.

Thats what it boils down to, pretty much all of his competitors have been found guilty of doping yet he beat them all whle they were doped, it just doesnt add up. Its not like he was Usain Bolt and was a gifted record breaking youth , in his young days he was just a very good but not exceptional cyclist.

He won the Tour for 7 years though right?

Exactly. The sport was (and still is) bent. Maybe that's harsh on Lance Armstrong, he can't prove that he was clean. But to me the idea that everyone else was at it yet all those drugs were only good enough for them to be able to get a bit closer to the one clean guy in the peleton is fanciful.
