Just read there that last years draw was made on October 9th. Haven't heard anything about this year's draw. Anybody know when it is?

Down v Armagh Ulster Prelim @ the Marshes.

Is it not the case that the last time Armagh played Down in the first round of Ulster in the Marshes that Paddy O'Rourke's team won the AI?

Would you not prefer to meet in the final? (Assuming Down can get past Cavan and Antrim)

I was playing Devil's Advocate given the comments on the other thread. I couldn't care if/when Armagh played Down.

Bring it on that would be great, we don't actually refer to the ground as the Marshes anymore but may have to make an exception on that particular day for all us Down folk pissing ourselves laughing.

Apologies, I seemed to have hit a nerve with Alan Titchmarsh here.

Seriously though - how have Down managed to decline so much since 1994 ?

In fairness to Paddy he might do a better job with some talent to work with.

Your absolutley right there, I bet he's gutted he missed out on being Banty's right hand man cos those Monaghan boys have some potential. For now though he's stuck with Armagh and things arent looking good. Its back to the dark old days:

Crossmaglen are no longer winning county never mind All Ireland titles, the Athletic Grounds have been re-installed as the home venue, their neighbours are laughing at them all again, theres a recession, the star players have all retired - leaving a buch of average Joes's to wear the Orange jersey.

Average yes indeed, i'd still back them to beat Down out the gate. No truer saying that there is always someone worse off than yourself.
