I think the standard will be seen if Dunloy win Ulster and see where they are at in the All Ireland series..

Getting out of Ulster has proved to be very difficult, that at least give us an idea, not sure if they will have all their players available though..

As for the final, it had it's moments,  we were just were waiting on it to spark into life, but in reality it had bits here and there, young Elliot's score taking being the highlights and the breakaway goal

As for the season, hats off to Glenariffe and Ballycastle to a point in getting out of their groups but also putting effort into the leagues, Glenariffe had a good campaign with not too many hammerings as is the case for some teams coming up, Ballycastle started strong, faltered a bit but rallied in the groups..

There really is at the minute 3 teams, Cushendall's young lads will make huge impacts on the team going forward and this year shows you (not that we didn't now) Burke's impact on that team, him missing was huge, but McLoughlin is quality..

Strange that its 4 years since Dunloy haven't lifted the cup, but while they didn't look like losing, they did leave the door open a few times in the final, but leading up to that game they were pretty good. Loughgiel, hmmm, plenty of potential on on their day in any given game they will beat either of these two teams, the question though is can they beat both of them in the one year? That consistency is missing and needs addressed for them, but they have quality up front and some dogged defenders, so they have the mix alright..

St Johns are aging, and Rossa, who I'd hoped would have pushed on from last year have went back! bitta work needed in both camps to bring up the standards, Ballycastle at a crossroads in terms of players and management? Glenariffe may push on as they have great youth recently so while they won't challenge the big 3 they will be confident of taking points off the rest..

I'm more of a glass half full NAG1, so fingers crossed, that standards are raised for the coming year
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Not is massive disagreement on any of that really, I would hope to see a few of the teams start to knuckle down and drive the standards up across the board.

Can't really argue with any of that MR2.

I noticed a lot of stats and facts bouncing about on socials at the weekend about wins etc.

The one that stuck out to me was that since we won our first title in 1990 till 2026, ourselves and Cushendall have shared the Volunteer Cup 30 times over a 36 year period.

Loughgiel taking it home 5 times in this period with Rossa and St johns once each.

Cushendall and Dunloy really have been at the top of the pile for nearly 40 years

Cushendall seem to have a cracker coming through in young lad McNaughton. Conor McCann an excellent hurler. Eoghan Campbell hopefully back with the county and injury free season with Burke back also will be strong again

I'd like to see this Dunloy team dog out an Ulster championship and get down south again. That team could seriously open up in Croke Park like their semi final win
