Think any of the smaller South American teams could surprise us. Uruguay, Mexico and Chile. Chile will qualify 2nd in their group which means that they'll be drawn against whoever finishes 2nd in the group of death, and if they get through that anything's possible.

1st in that group I think paco??  That could be Brazil.  If they were in a different group I think Chile could do well.  I think they qualified in 2nd place in the S America group??

Can't understand anyone mentioning Serbia as being possible anythings, they're pretty woeful if you ask me, I don't think they'll get out of their group.

They've a pretty solid squad, with several of their first eleven peppered about some of the top clubs in Europe. They qualified with ease, scoring a lot of goals in the process. Their group is undeniably shit. Australia are dire, and Ghana without Essien aren't anything to write home about. If Serbia top the group they'll have someone shit like the USA or Slovenia to beat to get into the last 8. Even if they finish second, they'd still have strong chance of knocking out England to progress.

You're right, meant to say 1st. Aye, they finished 2nd in South America, doubtful they would beat Brazil but you never know. I reckon Mexico could cause a few upsets, your man Guardado on the left wing is some player, Carlos Vela is talented if inconsistent, and I'm looking forward to seeing this Hernandez man up front.

poor enough group i thought, sure France were the top seeds and they were no great shakes.  Their recent form has been terrible, lost to New Zealand and drew 0-0 with Poland's B team - of course we shouldn't rely on friendly results, but I saw the NZ game and they were full strength and absolutely brutal.
