Nah it's gone. The whole desktop is away.
Try
crtl alt del
file
then run
then type explorer

I use Microsoft Internet Explorer and I keep getting prompts to download Internet Explorer 7; any reason why I shouldn't?
Because its shit , DL Firefox instead

Are you talking about Explorer 7? I have been using Microsoft Explorer for 6/7 years and always found it to be ok.

Firefox is far better than IE6 or 7 and far more secure .

I prefer IE7 over IE6, so if I were you I'd download IE7 next time you're prompted - it is  much better.  Firefox is more secure than IE, but, I prefer IE.

Google Open Office.  You can save as excel files that way

Oh and it's the scalc program in the Open Office suite.

We're back working again.

Just whipped the battery out of the laptop and stuck it back in again.

F11 key was probably your problem - toggles full screen mode on and off in IE and Firefox. In full screen, the taskbar is not visible. Hit F11 again to get it back.

How's that for a prompt reply?   :D

How do I get the Taskbar back in Desktop - it seems to have disappeared on the home computer, but it's there for all applications including IE.  F11 again??

If I worked for the public service it would count as almost instant.

(Never noticed the thread was from 2007).

I dunno Billy. Maybe try it? If it doesn't work, I'll be back to ya sometime in 2011.

Hover your mouse over where it should be.  When it appears, right click on it then go to properties and then untick 'auto-hide the taskbar'

Oh and if it doesn't appear at the bottom, it will be at one of the sides or possibly even the top of the screen.
